[QUOTE="MushroomWig"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"]V for Vendetta.PannicAtack

Do those conspiracy theorists mentain 9/11 while talking about this movie?

Not sure. I do know that alot of the youtube conspiracy theorists like to use V avatars. Because a completely insane psychopathic anarchist is exactly the sort of role model you should take up if you want to be taken seriously.

Hahaha. They seem to think the US government is like the government in V for Vendetta (or will be in the future).

[QUOTE="MrPraline"][QUOTE="PannicAtack"]1984 V for Vendetta The Matrix What do all these things have in common? They've been completely ruined by conspiracy theorists.

V was awesome. I don't understand why conspiracy nuts took it literally, because it's about Nazi's.

It annoys me greatly. It's one thing when Anonymous wears V masks to protest Scientology. It's another thing when people on forums say that V for Vendetta is a "warning." Yeah, it's about as much of a warning about the NWO as "The Wicker Man" is a warning about evil neo-pagan cults.

They probably don't even know what V for Vendetta is really about. It is an illustration of the ideological conflict between the two extremes of fascism and anarchy.

The former United States..that always makes me think when I hear those words while watching that movie..I guess anything is possible, but I think those theorists are thinking more of how 9/11 was thought up be the government just as the government in the film caused a terrorist attack in the UK.

OH, sorry. I completely misread your post. I thought you also mentioned "V", the show about reptillians. No idea how I came to that conclusion. That's what I meant by Nazis. :P But yeah, the kids taking V For Vendetta as anything more than fiction are ridiculous.

Yeah, David Icke's the guy behind most of the "reptillian humanoids" stuff. Though in recent years he's backed off on that a bit. I believe his latest antics include anti-vaccination fear-mongering. I really hate the anti-vaccination crap. Some conspiracy theories like the JFK assassination and the moon landings are harmless. The vaccination stuff, however, is dangerous.

I haven't really been following him since last year, so I haven't heard much about his vaccination fear mongering. The last article I read by him was his "opinion" on Obama. I agree, convincing people the vaccinations are evil is pretty dangerous.

One things in the first part of the "review" made me think "yep. He has no credibility at all." The first part was that he said he doesn't read comic books that much, because he occupies himself with "more important things." Then he refers to the villain as "Ozzymandamus." No, you idiot, it's "Ozzymandias," a reference to the famous poem by Percy Byshe Shelly. Maybe you should read more often.

I laughed when, in "Zeitgeist: Addendum," the narrator says that we should "celebrate being proven wrong." Funny. I don't see him celebrating it. Or even admitting it.

Well, there's a little less crap. However, some of the stuff he says just makes you laugh. He starts off with more of the Federal Reserve stuff, some of which has been called out by others.

He also has an interview with the author of "Confessions of an Economic Hitman." I hold that book's author to be less credible, because apparently he believes you can shapeshift to lose weight. Or turn into a jaguar.

Then he goes to talk about this thing called "The Venus Project," which is some utopian idea. He claims that money is the source of all problems, and that everything will be fine if we just change to a "resource-based economy."

Some of the stuff is patently stupid. For example, he says that "scarcity" is man-made and doesn't exist in nature. He also says we need to create "Weapons of Mass Creation."

Oh dear. I might have to check it out, just for the laughs. I think it's still watchable on google videos.

I made a bit of a rant thread on it around the time it came out, which has more of my arguments and examples.

Bookmarked, and will read it later. I'm going offline for a while. Have a good day. :)
