I don't have a problem with people "talking" mate, i just feel this community is going down the drain because too many users are simply posting for the sake of posting. Why are people driven by a silly little number next to their name?

i used to be like that, then i found it just causes trouble, like what you're describing, i stay away from the absolute trash that is RC during the day

The sad truth is people with high post counts seem to carry a certain amount of respect around here and more often than not they've got them through spamming the place up. This then sets an example that other users follow and this is why we're left with meaningless topic and meaningless topic.

hmm, ive gotten most of mine through that too unfortunately, only the last 1-2k have been better than crap, but the thing is im not respected anyway, so its fine, easiest thing to do is not post in the places where it happens, and post with the users who don't do it

Yeah the role playing is very tedious and something i stay away from with a passion. I completely agree with you though, there just isn't enough meaningful discussion that goes on in here anymore. If you remember this is how the first Roll Call ended up (when it wasn't stickied), people just used it as a way to boost their post counts and as a result it got removed from the site. Sadly it's happening all over again because the mods/admins failed to maintain that level of quality we saw in the beginning, i'm not saying it's their fault because it's so hard to keep so many users in check all of the time but unless something is done i can see it meeting a similar fate.

Yeah there was, i don't really have a clue why they took them away to be honest. Maybe there was a breakdown in communication and they simply forgot to add them? Maybe they couldn't maintain the rules? Who knows...

Rules for role call? I'm actually glad they took them away. Too many rules gets disruptive.
