Wow, that sucks dude.:(

This PC here isnt bad. Faster CPU than mine, 9800GT and 4Gb of RAM. But its let down by a 32bit OS (Vista lolz) and a 1280x1024 mointor.

While that sounds good mostly, you miss your stuff and there's drawbacks too(Vista and monitor).

Also, oh Jaggy.:P

Yeah, that's crazy, since you can't technically use all 4 GB RAM on a 32 bit OS.

Umm.... that's common. RAM mostly comes in 2gb or 4gb sticks now. They can't break a stick in half so you have 3gb. So they put in 4gb and if you ever take the big boy step and upgrade to 64bit you'll have the whole 4gb.

On my home PC I use 64bit Win7 Pro but Vista really needs 4Gb of RAM. I dont know if it occured to the guy that built this PC to use a 64bit OS since he put in 4Gb of RAM.

Most current market 32bit OS PC's have 4gb RAM, it's standard. And most people who build custom PC's with a 32bit OS also get 4gb RAM. Vista 32bit needs 2gb of RAM to run smoothly. It's not really effective to put a 1gb stick in with a 2gb stick. Much better to go with two 2gb sticks for 4gb dual channel. The OS can't use all of it, but it can use 3gb of it. Which a damn site lot better than using just 2gb. Pretty much so most if not 90% of PC custom builders or PC stores do this. Pretty standard really.

Pre-builts I can see that but this was custom built for my Uncle. Now if your putting 4Gb of RAM in a PC, it would make more sense to install the 64bit version since they come on the same disc!

Nope. Plenty of people prefer a 32bit OS or find that a 64 bit OS has severe conflicts with their software. My place of work uses win XP cuz vista and win 7 32 and 64 bit make their software go bonkers. It'd make less sense to put in 2gb or a 2gb stick and 1gb stick which would lower performance compared to two same brand and type 2gb sticks for dual channel. Unless someone specifically requests a 64bit OS most places don't install it and stick to 32bit as it's much more user friendly and Joe Average has gotten used to it and thus far 99% of programs are designed to run off 32 bit with only a finite amount being able to run with both a 32 and 64 bit OS.

I personally have never had a software conflict but I do see your point. Maybe because I built my own PC and know that a 64bit OS is better it just makes me mad.

No. :| We've had WAY too much rain. A few towns flooded, and two citites were slightly flloded as well. We don't need it. Two weeks of 25C sun and wind would hit the spot right now.
