Just wait until you see some of the enemies. I've already faced some of them but its just the character that I a playing as thats giving me a hard time. What character are you?

I'm still at the contemplating starting phase. Edit - once I get past that I'll be a mage of some sort. I think I'm going to restart with wanderer but use the master key as my gift. Seems like it could be useful and someone told me that was the only gift you can't find in the game.
