Running on the beach is totally overrated

I'm not sure how many runners we have here, but I just recently went running on the beach for the first time. It was about 5:30 p.m. and the sun was setting over the horizon. It was amazing. There were about 20 mph winds and it felt great outside. It was a perfect day for running. Many couples began to walk out of their condos to watch the sun set as I began to get about a mile in for the day. And guess what? It sucked. The only way to get good footing was to run near the water which of coarse dosen't seem to bad, unless the ground there is slanted about this much -----> &#92 Has anyone shared the same running experience?What kind of environment do you go running in?
