Limbaugh:

"Just come on this program. Let's have a little debate. You tell me how wrong I am and you can convince the rest of the Americans that don't agree with you how wrong we all are. You're a smart guy, Mr. President. You don't need these hacks to front for you. You've debated the best! You've debated Hillary Clinton. You've debated John Edwards. You've debated Joe Biden. You've debated Dennis Kucinich. You've debated the best out there. You are one of the most gifted public speakers of our age. I would think, Mr. President, you would jump at this opportunity. Don't send lightweights like Begala and Carville to do your bidding -- and forget about the ballerina, Emanuel. He's got things to do in his office. These people, compared to you, Mr. President, are rhetorical chum."

Well since Limbaugh has a cigar he gets 1,000,000,000 win points automatically off the get go. Come on Mr. Obama, have more class than that.

Why would a duly elected, actively sitting Head of State debate a radio show host?

Nope, Obama would crush Rush.

The reason why Rush isn't in politics is because he'd lose his influence. So actually, I think Rush would kill him. Obama can literally spend 45 minutes talking and yet not make ANY points. Although Rush is annoyingly conservative, at least he goes straight to the heart of the issue.

Given the current economic crisis, I think our president has more important things to do than debate washed-up pundits who abuse prescription drugs.

When talking with Republican congressmen though, Obama basically singled out Limbaugh and told the Republicans that listening to him wouldn't be the way to move forward or something to that effect. Besides, Rush has a large audience so it would give a lot of Conservatives a chance to hear Obama appealing to them for cooperation.

Agreed, rush has alot of years of experience in debates, Obama on the other hand, aside from giving speeches theres not much there. A debate isn't anything like a speech, he would get killed. Although if it's a "Debate" like during the election, he might fair better, not that those were really debates. More like Q&A sessions.

Rush would absolutely destroy him. I don't mind the guy and I definitely know the guy can be quite ... "excessive" at some time, but even I know Obama wouldn't stand a chance against him.

That would be bad for Obama to do, for several reasons. First, it would be on Limbaugh's show, his "home turf," with his listeners. Most of Rush's listeners are ultra-conservative, so that would already make it hard for Obama to win. Second, the president of the USA debating (for no apparent reason) a radio talk show host? Pointless, and makes the president look "smaller" (for lack of a better word) than he should. Though I think it would make great entertainment, and I'd love for it to happen.

Obama would crush Limbaugh in a debate.

From what ive heard, even in the presidential debate, if obama cannot defend his side, he ignores the question/topic and moves on to something completely different. I would be willing to bet you that obama wouldnt even have time to think in a debate with rush.

i would be willing to bet a hundred bucks on this debate, i swear. Even if he does use information, obama probably wouldnt be able to tell the difference, and end up slipping on his words. and because of that, obama wont attend this debate.

Huh? When was the last time a president debated while in office? Not much of a practical point to it. And why not wait for election year, since he wants to be president? (Hey, that's a reasonable statement.)

Limbaugh has never even hinted at wanting to run for public office. This all started when Limbaugh said he wanted Obama to "fail" at implementing his economic philosophy. Since then people (mainly Democrats) have been calling Rush the defacto leader of the party even though he's just a private citizen. Also, I think Obama would have a lot to gain by debating Limbaugh since he's been pinned as the "leader of the opposition". He has made a point of trying to make his administration more accountable to Joe Schmoe, so why not debate someone that a lot of Joe schmoes listen to? Limbaugh would probably be willing to hold the debate in a "neutral" location if Obama didn't want to come onto his show.

yeah.....his speech was so dry......even his campagining slogans like "Yes we can" make NO sense at all. Yes we can do what? I dont get it? What can we do?

If you listened to his speeches you would know that Obama accompanied "Yes we can" With what he was stating as goals for this nation...

It is now beyond apparent that you did not listen to his pre-election speeches and rallies, he was constantly making a specific reference to what his goals were then said yes we can, he stated another goal and said "yes we can" and so on and so on. He also talked about what we have overcome in our nations history and how we still have more to accomplish is we desire to become a more unified nation. Once again "Yes we can"

What "Yes we can" is talking about was thoroughly explained in his campaign speeches over an over for months, you are only proving that you didn't listen to his speeches because anyone who can type out a message, can easily comprehend how "Yes we can" was used in Obamas speeches. FAIL.

I think it would be in Obama's best interest to debate Rush. . .though it would also be in Rush's best interest. Imagine the rates he'd get on that episode.

From an objective standpoint.

rush limbaugh (yeah no caps for a reason) would be crushed by President Obama, because rush isa tool and also an extremely unimformed silly loud man, and President Obama is to nice(and smart) to go on that show and smash rush, because it would just give his "followers" a reason to feel sorry for rush for the public humiliation President Obama would serve him.
