[QUOTE="Jacobistheman"][QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"] I don't know. This isn't the republican party of the 90's. They are in much worse shape right now then they were then, and I don't think going more to the right is a solution to their problems anymore. -Sun_Tzu-Well the fact is that they are doing bad because the country has moved so far left under bush through to much spending, and government take over of the banks, and as a result many people don't believe what they say about smaller government. If the rep. move back to the right, where they should be, people will regain confidence, and solve problems. Bush has done the same things fiscally as Reagan did. Lower taxes for the rich, cut domestic spending, and increase defense spending. Although Reagan did raise taxes a number of times after he initially cut taxes, but conservatives hate tax increases so I don't know how that would fly with Rush at the helm of a new conservative movement. Not to mention all the big government that would be implemented in order to satisfy Rush's social positions. The only time the republican party really stood for actual small government was in 1964 when Barry Goldwater ran against LBJ, and he got crushed in that election. And the country hasn't moved "so far left" unless the center is far left these days. Hey I would some what agree with the conservative image if they weren't hypocrits.. They want less government and spending, yet they wish to have the largest military in the world.. With a budget greater than every others budget combined.. Makes so much sense.. Yet some how they want to lower taxes, when at the same time increasing one of the biggest costs in governmnet..
