[QUOTE="MattUD1"][QUOTE="AmyMizuno"][QUOTE="sovereign_22"]it boggles my mind why its not legal everywhere, especially here in america, thats just embarassingAmyMizunoBecause unfortunately, the American electorate has been hijacked by Wall Street and religious fanatics. They have driven the country into the ground. As an American, I can no longer say that America is the best country in the world to live in.What does Wall Street have to do with gay marriage?
neither, it's their life let them do whatever they feel like.
ur opinion?

I dont oppose it.I support it.

Point taken, but he didn't say that he wasn't going to stop it either. Also, those points I listed weren't directed at him, just those who go out of their way to stop it.
Just to clarify a few things...The constitution does not anywhere say "separation of church and state." The phrase "separation of church and state" first comes from a letter written by Thomas Jefferson to a baptist church. It's first legal precedent was in a supreme court ruling.
The constitution does however say "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion."
The reason I believe homosexual marriage has legal precident has nothing to do with separation of church and state. It has to do with the fact that marriage is a contract between one or more individuals, and the importance of contractual relations go back to the very foundation of this country.

Okay, thanks, I'm not American so I'm not entirely sure what the US laws state, but people throw it around a lot and given this is a major issue in the USA I'm going by their rules.
I brought up the issue of separation of Church and State because Christians love to bring in their religious ideals about why it should be illegal, or any legal matters in general. Whether you or I believe it is secular or not, people still do base their ideas of marriage on religious grounds.
Areas where people tend to oppose same-sex marriage tend to have higher divorce rates. Those people don't just oppose same-sex marriage, they oppose any marriage whatsoever in my view.
Fortunately for me, I oppose any marriage personally but I don't see the value in prohibiting marriage of any sort.

I think you're well aware of the value of not basing arguments on assumptions. In fact, I know you are. And it has oft been said that if you hold an opinion and it does not encroach upon anyone else, you are perfectly free to hold said opinion.
I guess its not really up to me, but I wouldn't go there myself. Fair play if that's what you're into though..-SEBi-Eh, he didn't ask if you would like to get married to the same sex, it asked if it was alright. No need to worry, there.

I'm sorry to bring this up, but the phrase is couldn't care less.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest.
And it sickens me to see these so-called "conservatives" being opposed to it. The true conservative view encompasses both separation of Church and state and as little government involvment in the lives of every day people as possible.
I don't care if they get married or fondle each other. I do oppose gays in the military though.Ghost_702
Me too.
If they allowed Gays in the Military then Hendrix wouldn't have been able to come up with a way of avoiding draft. :P
Oppose it on biblical grounds. Don't care to debate it. Just giving my view.
maheo30
But why don't you care to debate it? :(
it's not a matter of religion it is a matter of human rights. people have the right to be whatever they wish to be_EXCON_
Exactly.
Stephen Fry is gay and Stephen Fry should be allowed to do whatever he wants. :)
For one BlackIsle_rip, I'm getting ready to go home.
2. My views are intensely biblical and will probably get me banned.
Charles Spurgeon gives my view nicely though,
"The cities of Sodom and Gomorrha are bright as the sun goes down. The inhabitants
are merry with boisterous laughter, there is plenty in the barn, there is luxury in the
hall, for the plain of Sodom was well watered and lacked for nothing. Down went the
sun upon a disastrous eve, never to rise upon the most of those who were in that
doomed city. At day-break, just as the sun is beginning to shine upon the earth,
angels had hastened Lot and his family out of the city, and no sooner had they
reached the little city of Zoar than straightway the heaven is red with supernatural
flame, and down descends a terrific rain, as if God has poured hell out of heaven."

==Why?

maheo30
Fair enough.
However I do believe that what is written in the bible has to be interpreted as either a lesson in morality or as a lesson in ancient history. In the case of Sodom and Gomorrah I believe that it is more of a lesson in ancient history than anywhere else. Clearly it was a society that was attacked for general immoralities, and the interpretation of Sodomy (which originally used to refer to any general sin of immorality) has been manipulated to simply mean Anal Sex between two men. Of course homosexuality does not imply anal sex either.
As for the book of leviticus, well that can largely be interpreted as a book on moral hygiene before the invention of Condoms. Which is why pro-gay lobbies often quote the shellfish section as shellfish also contain a lot of parasites.
I don't care about what people do. If someone has sex with their dog, I don't really care.Hinata237
gross
It doesn't bother me, though I do find it a bit weird how someone can be attracted to the same sex. :|UTXII
Do you think it's weird that some girls think other girls are pretty?
[QUOTE="BlackIsle_rip"]No because girls are pretty, guys are jsut gross. I don't even get why girls like us period :lol:Do you think it's weird that some girls think other girls are pretty?

Guys are attractive. They're masculine, rough, and have balls. Women are like whimpy ass men who don't do anything but complain and abstain from anything that's actually fun because they want to read their magazines and watch other peoples lives on Soap Operas. And then they criticize us for playing videogames. The cheek!
Women are rude too. They don't let you pass when your on a high street collision course. They expect you to do everything for them. And they don't stick up for you, but they'll make you suffer if you don't stick up for them.
