Schoolgirl, 14, sent home on first day of new term for wearing trousers teachers ruled were too tight.

A schoolgirl was sent home just hours after starting the new term after teachers insisted her trousers were too tight.

Fourteen-year-oldĀ  Annalise Wilks had just rejoined friends after their summer holidays and taken her first steps into preparing for GCSE exams.

But the Year 10 student was pulled to one side by furious staff at Beaumont Leys School, Leicester, and told to change her trousers or go home.

Some 25 children were given their marching orders or put into isolation for breaking the secondary schools zero tolerance uniform rules.

Annalises mother, Denise, 44, was contacted by the school on Thursday to be told her daughter was not allowed into her classes.

All this zero tolerence enforcement really is a joke. It's not like she had intended to break the dress code.

NaveedLife
School uniforms are perfectly fine, it actually helps to keep the students "banded together" and from judging each others by avoiding crap like "Oh you only have like 3 shirts you bring the same clothes every week!", "your clothes are horrible!", "omg you must be poor you're always wearing the same stuff", "you're just a superficial whore wearing those 200$ jeans!". The problem comes when the rules become ridiculously strict (girls not being able to dye/bleach their hair, having makeup banned, guys can't have long hair, etc....) Recently, I had to visit the high school which I attended to pick up some files for a certain application, anyway I found out that they make the rules more strict every year, now the male students can't even have a beard, not just a beard but facial hair in general, goatees, balbos, plain mustaches whatever, they can't grow facial hair, and the girl's skirts are now like ankle lenght lol glad I made it out of that place before anything like that happened to me.

My school doesn't have uniforms and that stuff never happens, at least not that I know. And kids will find ways to bully each other, whether it's about their clothes or that they're fat etc.

I'm pretty sure that a lot of kids would feel bad with themselves if they had to come with the same shirt 2 times a week and that a lot more would trash talk about them because of their lack of clothes. Uniforms help to hide class gaps, a poor student will have the same uniform as a rich one. Hell I'm in college and I only have 3 pants and 5 shirts while I rarely see my classmates repeating clothes for at least 3 months lol.

another attack from the right of sexual expression. teens, adolescents, and young adults should be able to express their sexuality in any form they desire or want. an authoritarian twat should not decide what to limit and what's ok.

That is THE most masculine uniform for a girl I have ever seen. Kind of just sounds like they're trying to make their female students (and possibly male students as well) as nonsexual as possible by dressing them in unflattering, badly fitted uniforms to disguise the fact that they have breasts or a butt or anything else. Is this supposed to be a private school? If so whatever, don't go there then, but if this is public school that's BS.

Not exactly. They eliminate the problem of judging people by what they wear, which a lot of people do. There are students from all walks of life in high school and being judged as the poor kid because of your clothes isnt cool.

You should think again because not everyone can, that's like saying "I'm pretty sure everyone can afford 3 meals a day!", no, some cant and yes it wouldn't be rare to see kids like that at a school considering that educaion is payed by the government. It's not like I only have 5 shirts, I have lots of shirts but only 5 of them are "socially acceptable", the rest are imitations, torn shirts, badly coloured, things I wouldn't wear at college (an adventure time t-shirt that was actually bought from a kids department at a JC pennys, its XL for fat kids so it actually fits me  ) A lot of kids feel bad if they have to wear imitation shirts like a "folcom" or "lacai" "etny" and even more judge them for what they wear.

Maybe that's just an american thing than. Almost no one here gets bullied because of what they wear. (now that I think about it, bullying rarely takes place at all in my school.)

Ā

But the Year 10 student was pulled to one side by furious staff at Beaumont Leys School, Leicester, and told to change her trousers or go home.

Some 25 children were given their marching orders or put into isolation for breaking the secondary schools zero tolerance uniform rules.
