*sob* NOOOOOOOOOOO! HOW COULD THEY!? Actually, I couldn't care less, seeing as I get all my sci-fi from blockbuster, netflix, and video games (obviously). But I have to agree, this makes it seem more like a kiddie channel, which I know they are NOT, so some parents are probably in for a unexpected suprise.

How long has it been off now? I have a feeling it was canceled....... Now with both Stargates and BSG over I am only left with one show now---Sanctuary. I am glad we are only gonna be starting season 2 in October.
I heard about this when they first announced the name change. It's a stupid move, why the hell would you change the name, there wasn't anything wrong with it. And then you go and replace it with some weird name that most people won't know how to pronounce and makes no sense whatsoever. bededog
It's because they're gonna be trying to do less science fiction programming. They're gonna get away from so much science fiction and start doing more stuff like wrestling and reality TV.
It's a dumb move. I'll still watch sci-fi because they have my favorite programs of all time like, BSG, Caprica, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Stargate SG1 Atlantis and Universe. So I'll still watch it, but the name change was unnecessary.
Why would they do that? It sounds... Lame. Well, it sounds the same, but still..

It's not JUST a simple name change that's intended to be cute. The point is that they want to get away from showing so much science fiction. They changed the name because they're actually going to be dropping a lot of the sci-fi.

Not really, they will keep the programs they have. But the name change is to signify they show other programing as well. Example the Wrestling and the 2 reality shows they have right now... They also want to expand into the fantasy genre as well instead of futuristic aliens stuff, which most people think of when they hear sci-fi. However it will still be science fiction based, with a few new Fantasy programings as well in the future.
