Hi, i was just thinking about the big bang theory and i think it's hilarious that adult humans could think that the whole universe was created with just a bang. To me, it sounds like something a 6 year old would think of.

I think that the scientists were just trying as hard as they could to find something that didn't go along with how God created that earth. What do you guys think?

A bang?

More like a singularity expanding. With a bang.

"To me, it sounds like something a 6 year old would think of" is not a proper argument. Could you perhaps make an attempt that, you know, actually has some subsance?

i just think that this theory is ridiculous... how something as complex as our universe could be created like that.

Once you think of how our planet is placed...(it's not too far from the sun but far enough away) and how complex some of our animals are. The chameleon can camouflage itself, the poison dart frog has its poison from its skin for protection.

All you have to do is think about it.

Yeah, all you have to do is think.

With the universe containing trillions of stars and even more trillions of planets, it's quite likely that AT LEAST one of those planets would be spaced the correct distance from its corresponding star to be of the correct temperature to sustain carbon based life forms.

And with all the different courses that evolution can take, the different ways in which animals will develop protection is quite staggering.

All you have to do is think it.

Ridiculous =/= wrong. Besides, the fact that it SEEMS ridiculous to you is irrelevant.

 Come on, there are billions of billions of planets in the universe... it would be amazing if a planet were not placed in the right place for life. Besides, given that we adapt to our planet, rather than vice-versa, there's a very large potential range for life. And as for your points about the chameleon and the poison dart frog... evolution.

All you have to do is think about it.

Usually the more simple of ideas is more childish (god creating everything today), then the more complicated (millions of pieces of evidence with numerous theories still being studied today) ideas..

For all my life, I've noticed worms in the ground, and I'm always astounded at how many there are. It's pretty obvious to me that worms shaped this world, and continue to shape this world. So obviously, worms created all worlds, and the universe is just a molecule inside another worm, that's shaping another world, inside another universe, which is just a molecule in...

See how stupid that sounds? I have no proof that worms created the world, and no proof that universes are molecules, but if I believe it long enough I'm going to accept it as fact. I wonder what else people force themselves to believe through repetition...

That is irrelevant to the big bang... through evolution, or even if you are a non-believer in evolution, natural selection those things exist.

Hah, irony.

Billions of planets is a understatement..

The milky way has some 200 to 400 billion stars... Its considered a medium sized galaxy.. The Hubble telescope in 1999 predicted there to be around 125 billion galaxies in the universe it could spot.. This is only after a certain size because smaller galaxies are nearly impossible to see with current technology.

Jus to help you out a bit, the expanding singularity didn't expand into planets and animals and whatever you can name. There was primarily Hydrogen, which other elements were made from by nuclear fusion.

The name of the theory is a bit of a misnomer since there was no bang.

Do you actually find it humorous?

In this year, that sort of silly belief is completely out of place ( I am referring to young earth creationism, not all of chrisitanity), especially when they use it as an excuse to bash hardworking scientists who are only trying to further the advancement and knowledge of the human race, and get their work and attacked because what they find doesn't adhere to ancient, primitive beliefs.

True, but the fact that he's basing his entire post around the Big Bang being wrong, especially considering that it's obvious he did no prior background research on the subject at all, shows just how blatantly biased and ignorant he truly is.

It would be the same as me making a topic called "Theists are funny" and then rant about how all the animals of the earth couldn't fit on an ark or if the Christian god could make a stone too heavy for himself to lift, etc. It's simply a show-off of pure illiteracy.

I find this a little bit ironic, the Big Bang sounds like something a 6 year old could come up with but a divine being that creates everything from scratch doesn't?
