From my past experiences with films that have sequels the sequel is most of the time worse than the first one. Examples.

Harry Potter ....lol

Never heard of LOTR and never seen saw but you are dead wrong on every other. the sequals to X-Men, Matrix, Jurassic Park, and HP, were significantly better than their predicesors.
