I think that the media and everyone in here needs to understand that when serena and venus were young kids still living in the ghettos of compton, the crips gang used to protect them and the neigborhood from other gang members. the author who wrote this doesnt understand the ghettoes because he doesnt know what it feels like to have lived in compton in the 80's, he needs to understand that the crips weren't all that bad back then, because most of the gangs were established to protect their neighborhood and its because of their protection that the sisters could keep safe, and serena is in a way really thankful for that. even the dad of the williams sisters said the first thing he would do once the sisters got famous is take a whole group of crip gangmembers who used to protect his daughters from other gangmembers and get them box seats for wimbleden or us open. the author doesnt understand all of this and everyone else is quick to judge
