I am. My doctor told my parents that the reduced skin area results in a smaller chance of infection and whatnot, but I've also heard that it's purely for aesthetics. If I have a son, I'm not sure if I'm going to do it or not yet lol.CJL182

The skin under the foreskin is a good breeding ground for things like HIV. Thats why it has been suggested that circumcision for all African males could help slow down the spread of HIV.

Every doctor has a different opinion on it. And its not the parent's right to decide whether their son should be circumcised or not. I would have broken my father's jaw if he had me circumcised when I was born (when I grew up, of course).

Its also proven that being circumcised makes your parts less sensitive at the end. If your a priest, I guess that doesn't matter but for others... Well, lets just say that I'll be getting circumcised only when there are four burly men holding me down to the surgery table.

Parents that don't circumsize their kids at birth annoy me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm uncircumsized being a European and an Atheist. My mother wanted me to decide for myself so she didn't let them do it. Now I'm older and I understand that for my health, and that of my girlfriend it would be best to get circumsized.

Actually the benefit is negligible if you uphold a high standard of personal hygiene, wich I do, but the benefit is still there.

It's not that it's a breeding ground (HIV is extremely fragile...get it outside the bloodstream and it's pretty much dead) it's that the inside of the foreskin is the only skin on the penis that is permeable. Circumcision can prevent the transmission of HIV by eliminating what is basically the only place it can enter the blood stream through the penis

HIV really isn't that prevalent in NA. Coupled tothe wide availbility of condoms makes the HIV point moot. Africa on the otherhand.....

From a biological standpoint it's completely barbaric. Really. If you seen a baby get circumcised you know after they snip it cries its head off, then it stops because he goes into neurogenic shock! If you knew whats actually happening on a biological scale it really is not a good thing.

Not to mention when you're having sex the skin rolls back and gives the girl better stimulation because it's almost like one of those ribbed condoms. Also you should make note there are 20,000 nerve endings COMPACTED into the foreskin. And its been shown that men who have been circumcised to feel less stimulation and are desensitized.
