The WHO estimates that 30% of all males are circumcised. Not exactly most.
It is estimated that 55.5% to 79% are circumcised in the US, and most people here are from the US.That is true but he never specified the US. There are also many posters from Europe and Australia.

You think a girl likes an ugly elephant trunk? I don't think so, circumsized is the way to be.
-R3Vo
 You know what? I think you're right. Never thought of that; elephant trunk.
Well, I guess if I had my foreskin cut off before I had any say, I'd be bitter and devise aesthetic reasons for my mutilation too.DJ_LaeI was thinking the same thing. They really should let people decide on their own if they want to cut off a part of their penis or not..
I think I am.. but I don't know. Can anyone explain to me what it looks like or give me a comparison? I think I had it done at birth, but I'm not sure.Rikusaki
Are you serious? I would say to google an image but I can't be accountable for what shows up. Maybe look at how to perform a circumcision? (y'know by an actual doc not by yourself ;P)

But if you did want to, wouldn't you rather it happen while you were too young to remember it?
That's a pretty big if. Though I suppose not as big an if as giving your son a sex change operation when he's born on the off-chance that he decides he wants to be a woman later in life.

What if he would grow up to be suicidal? Should I just abort the pregnancy just incase?
Anyways, I would be selfish enough as a father to avoid hurting my child in any way.

so did you do it or not, i was never clear on that.
I assume you don't know very much about Judaism...
Heh, I knew a Jewish kid that was uncircumcised. :D

You don't really have to ask your parents, you can tell on your own.
I've honestly never seen the two compared. I'm sure it's not circumcised though.Google 'circumcised' and compare pictures of what is on the monitor and what is in your kecks.I don't think I am.

Nope. But does anyone recommend getting it cut later?rcignoni
Not me...............
From a biological standpoint it's completely barbaric. Really. If you seen a baby get circumcised you know after they snip it cries its head off, then it stops because he goes into neurogenic shock! If you knew whats actually happening on a biological scale it really is not a good thing. Not to mention when you're having sex the skin rolls back and gives the girl better stimulation because it's almost like one of those ribbed condoms. Also you should make note there are 20,000 nerve endings COMPACTED into the foreskin. And its been shown that men who have been circumcised to feel less stimulation and are desensitized.
[QUOTE="CJL182"]I am. My doctor told my parents that the reduced skin area results in a smaller chance of infection and whatnot, but I've also heard that it's purely for aesthetics. If I have a son, I'm not sure if I'm going to do it or not yet lol.RKfromDownunder
The skin under the foreskin is a good breeding ground for things like HIV. Thats why it has been suggested that circumcision for all African males could help slow down the spread of HIV.
Every doctor has a different opinion on it. And its not the parent's right to decide whether their son should be circumcised or not. I would have broken my father's jaw if he had me circumcised when I was born (when I grew up, of course).
Its also proven that being circumcised makes your parts less sensitive at the end. If your a priest, I guess that doesn't matter but for others... Well, lets just say that I'll be getting circumcised only when there are four burly men holding me down to the surgery table.
I see someone knows how to use Wikipedia

Woa woa woa. So you're saying that you should pull the skin back for sex? o_O Isn't that risking tearing the frenum (or whatever that thing is called that attaches the foreskin to the penis It's like that thing under your tongue you know? lol)?
Oh and no, I'm all-natural. :)

Nope, and I quite honestly hate all parents who have gotten their kids circumcised.
The bacteria arguement is ridiculous. Out of 100 people 1 might have issues with that in life. Good hygiene quite simply makes that point null.
On the other hand, circumcision can actually lead to sexual disfunction as the end of your penis actually hardens up to try and protect itself. At the very least it lessens your pleasure during sex.
Of course thats just male circumcision. Female circumcision is MUCH WORSE and is a HUGE problem in Africa. I mean female circumcision has the potential to kill you for so many reasons and AT THE VERY LEAST they are lucky to just go on through life feeling NO PLEASURE during sex.
Yeah, just watched videos on both male and female circumcision in my religion class this week and I must say it disgusts me the way people have this done to their children, especially the female circumcisions.

No it's not. It was thought to be at one time, but all it really does is compensate for someone with horrid hygiene....

50% less chance of HIV transmission?
Condoms do the same thing, except a helluva lot better.
