India is full of vegetarians and veggie food, and they've got pretty serious obesity problems. It's all about how you prepare the food... meat can be very healthy if it's the right kind and you're doing it right.

I'm not that sure. It's usually very greasy, for one thing.

it's actually a LOT better than it sounds. Really. Try it and I'm sure you'll like it. That is if you like spicy food, however. If you don't like spices, then stay away from pretty much all Asian food.

The day I become a vegetarian is the day I start wearing tight jeans, listening to indie bands and going to Starbucks on a regular basis so I can write novels on my MacBook Air. I really think most people become vegetarians for the wrong reasons and have certain expectations which will not be met which is why it makes me angry. Ask 10 vegetarians off the street why they became vegetarians and you will probably get 9/10 of the most hair brained answers you've ever heard.

Way to generalize.. not all asian food is spicy, and there are indians that don't put spices in their food you know.. some even hate the stuff.. lol

[QUOTE="majoras_wrath"]Generalizations ahoy! Guess what? Not everyone is vegetarian "to be cool", they do it for health or ethical reasons. I mean really. I eat meat, and still feel some guilt over how poorly animals are treated in order to make food. It's perfectly understandable to not want to eat the product of such horribleness. That said, PETA is kinda nuts, with ties to terrorist organizations.

Did you even read my post? I didn't say every vegetarian.

It doesn't have to be greasy - go to a cheap indian slop house where the meat's been sitting in metal vats for the week than sure you'll likely consume your annual intake of oil in one sitting. Eat some proper Indian or Sri Lanken dishes and it's wonderful - best food on the planet...

What about buddhist monks? I'm buddhist and I don't see anything wrong with eating only veggies all the time.

Vegetarians are hostile people. and they always want to acknowledge and remind us that they are vegetarians. worst is they can be very agressive if they didnt get what they want especially when they are in a small food outlet which does not serve only vegetarian meal.hippiesanta
Don't generalize a whole group of people. I know some vegetarians and I can assure you they're not hostile.
