learn to love your punk classics :|Neither. I think they are both kinda overrated. Good bands nonetheless, just don't really appeal to me right now

The Clash by far, Sex Pistols are crappy and overrated. Film-Guy
Name one band that managed to make as big of an impact as the Sex Pistols in such a short amount of time.

Why should I care how much of an impact they had? I still think they are a crappy band.

Meh. I used to listen to those bands quite alot but got a bit tired of them. I'd rather listen to some hardcore or post punk right now. But they are still good bands
Why would you think that?[QUOTE="MoldOnHold"][QUOTE="Film-Guy"]Sex Pistols are crappy and overrated. Film-Guy
Too much attitude not enough music. At least the clash could pla their instruments well and experimented with their music.
Please go listen to Nevermind the Bullocks, and pay close attention to it. Look past the amped up guitars and really listen to their playing, or even grab an accoustic and play it. It's original (for the time), concise, to the point, authentic, and not a single note out of place.

It was original for it's time and influential but there are so many better punk records, IMO. These spring to mind:
The Ramones - The Ramones
Richard Hell & The Voidoids - Blank Generation
Television - Marquee Moon
Wire - Pink Flag
X - Los Angeles
With the exception of The Clash and post-punk, I don't really like British Punk.
