if you buy a mac chances are youll use bootcamp, which runs windows.
mac isnt an alternative if most of the users use windows...

that depends on the PC you get really
PC's are better but macs in general are better quality..........
If your not a very tech savy person and aren't very good at computers, macs are good for beginners. But when you have problems with a mac, you've got problems and they can be very frustrating to fix especially since macs customer service to get something fixed is pretty expensive.
If you've used computers for a while and are more concerned with a good operating system, huge capability, and just general customization and programs, pc would be the best choice.
PC by far,you can do a lot more utility-wise on a PC....and PCs completely dominant the gaming market so if you like to game on a computer PC is the obvious choice.
As far as viruses go,just download firefox and you'll be fine.

in general yes but saying something like a voodoo laptop is worse quality than a mac would clearly be wrong

Well, the Mac is a pc. No? I'd rather say MAC - Dell - VAIO etc to say what kind of Personal Computer you have
I think it'd be cool if Linux was install on an Apple machine or if Linux came bundled in with a brand new computer instead of Windows or OSX

Excellent for my brother!!! But, Dell?(I know I know, "What wrong with Dell". Right?)
I keep trying to tell my brother that I would be more than willing to help him build a computer and that I would use one of my installations discs of Ubuntu - Kubuntu & Xubuntu to give him an OS since he wants Linux so bad, but he said he'd rather buy it already installed.
