That's what Libyans want......

Or just the rebel leaders who have the guns. Seeing they just beat the last leader who had all of the guns they get to make the choices. Sharia law gives a lot of power to the government. It's pretty natural for the leaders to want it.
oh wait, I thought this is the "Arabian Spring" and that the people of the Middle East are finally taking charge!!!unfortuantley people in the west think democracy in muslim countries means secular government, they don't understand the mentality of most muslims.

Secular governments have been better for the people when I look at countries.
[QUOTE="-Sun_Tzu-"]I don't see this as the end of the world. It's just one vague sentence on a piece of paper. Until there is actually a new Libyan government I can't really say much about the new Libyan government. With that said, I doubt Libya is all of a sudden going to become this vibrant democracy. That is going to take time. Specific political movement are going to have to develop into parties, as is a legitimate judicial system, among other things. But the Libyan revolution has begun to lay the foundation for that vibrant democracy. This has been an important first step. GazaAliIn the Palestinian constitution, Sharia is stated to be the source of legislation too. Looking at the Palestinian financial, criminal and social legislation, that is hogwash. In fact, almost all of the Middle East states have Sharia as the source of legislation in their constitutions and no one acts upon it. Its like the "work under pressure" thing that all employers put in job ads.
And this is really nothing new in Libya. Gaddafi preached about incorporating elements of Sharia for years, and to a certain but limited degree he did (example: no alcoholic beverages allowed).
UPDATE: Al-Qaeda and Islamic Extremists Taking Over Libya with NATO Approval and Assistance
No, this isn't just another "flickers of al Qaeda" story. It's the cold, hard truth ...
Abdelhakim Belhaj is the founder and leader of the Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG), a jihadist movement that, as an affiliate of al Qaeda, was banned worldwide by the UN 1267 Committee.
Between 2004 and 2010, he was imprisoned as part of Bush Jr.'s "war on terror".
However, during the two months preceding the rebel advance on Tripoli, he was TRAINED BY U.S. SPECIAL FORCES to conduct military operations against Gaddafi.
He's now the appointed chief of Tripoli's rebel Military Council, where his leadership is well-established.

Now, Harisemo, before you rejoice, I'd just like to point out something that should be becoming increasingly obvious to you: Your beloved al Qaeda is just a puppet of the West---just a tool the West uses to advance its neo-colonialist ambitions! How does that make you feel?
