I just came back from the movie. I really enjoyed it, it was an excellent movie, so clever and smart. I love movies that make you think and this will certainly not disappoint you. Definitely recommend it.

I'll bet you do.
Anyway I will be seeing it next week probably.
Sherlock Holmes 1 was brilliant and if you are fan of this kind of movies and you say all those good things of this one too, I guess I'm going to enjoy this one aswell. Just one question, does Rachel McAdams still play the role of "Sherlock's lover"?
Just saw it today. I thought it was good, but not as funny as the first one. I also didn't like how the main villain was revealed too quickly.
[QUOTE="muller39"][QUOTE="Mkavanaugh77"]Kinda want to see Mission impossible:Ghost ProtocolMkavanaugh77How was it? Havent seen it, I said I want to see it, I see it has really good reviews.
It's been better recieved than Holmes which I found surprising.

I thought for the most part Downey jr. and Law made their characters and the film rather fun to watch, but overall I found the film incredibly messy with an underwhelming foe, little to no mystery going on the revelation of which was equally underwhelming, story elements and revelations which really didn't make much sense, and just an incredible excess of chance in a million occurrences saving their lives that there was absolutely zero tension making me feel rather uninvolved in any of the goings on. It was bascially the definition of a brainless, silly, Hollywood adventure film with a couple of dudes running from one exotic location to the next whilst explosions went off -- but I'll admit it was a guilty kind of fun despite its numerous faults.
Can you tell me how it is once you watched it because I plan to go to the movies on Wednesday and I think I might see that.Seeing it on Sunday, going to see Ghost Protocol later today first.

B+ It was a lot of fun and had a very entertaining (albiet completely ridiculous) plot. Not mind blowing but definitely worth a watch.
I liked it better than the first. My only complaint is that they seemed to make Holmes a little too "essentric" in this film.
Yeah, the first Sherlock Holmes movie was pretty good. Robert Downey, Jr. did a great job as Holmes.I thought it was really good, but still think the first one was the best in the series

the first one SUCKED. ugh. i really didnt like it. seems like im the lone wolf on this one. pygmahia5
I wasn't a big fan of the first either, despite really wanting to like it.
Nearly forgot that I saw the second one this past saturday until coming across this thread. It wasn't bad, and I enjoyed it while I was there, but it wasn't memorable at all.
It was okay. The plot was crap to be honest. But the action and the duo of Jude Law and Robert Downey Jr. are the only thing that really held up the movie for me. Good flick though.
[QUOTE="Mkavanaugh77"]Kinda want to see Mission impossible:Ghost Protocolmuller39How was it? I would say Ghost Protocol is better than Sherlock Holmes 2. It's isn't really anything elaborate, but it is a fantastic flick to watch for some entertainment. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
I used to have an opinion about that movie, then I watched A Scandal in Belgravia and all my memory of A Game of Shadows got displaced by awesome.
Not gonna spoil anything, but i swear to god it seemed like they were trying to set up a "Sherlock Holmes and the 22nd Century" movie, but then the ending happened and i got semi sad :/
it's easily as entertaining as the first, successfully building on dynamic interactions between characters and a good mix of action and drama. Jared Harris is especially brilliant in this film as Moriarty - formidable, dangerous and composed in ways befitting the original text, he's one of the few truly memorable villains on screen in recent years. all in all a good flick - check it out.

as many of you probably know already, the ending - and the final twist - actually borrows heavily from the novels. as a fan i kinda appreciate that.
