honestly my ideal "kit" (main weapon, sidearm, melee, and accessory) would be this:

M416 assault rifle, fitted with a suppressor as to not alert all the zombies. Underbarrel grenade launcher of course, just in case a horde pops up.

Ruger 22 pistol with, again, integrated suppressor (these things are quiet). I know its not quite as beefy or manly as a 357 or 45 or whatever, but it is light, has no recoil, and all it takes is one pull of the trigger at 5 feet to a zombies head and its out.

Crowbill, about three feet long. A simple, sturdy, and ligtweight weapon perfect for puncturing zombie skull. The shaft would be lightweight, with a heavy steal maul-and-spike end for ease of swinging.

For my accessory, I think I would take a communication radio.

My armor would be a simple lightweight fabric that is tear resistant; you dont need anything heavy, they make clothes strong enough that can resist a dog's bite. I would definately have neck protection, though, and problably a helmet.

Most shotguns are un-buffered that's why they hurt. Un-buffered rifles hurt the same. That's the thing about guns... with most the good stock and butt pad are extra. And if you want a top of the line buffer system that usually costs more than the gun.

If you fire shoulder guns a lot you get use the abuse, like walking bare foot.

As for the AA-12, it looks cool I guess, but it's a pain the ass really. It is buffered because it's made mostly withAR-15 partswhich is aplus, but you'll spend a lot of time detaching and reattaching those drums. You can simply carry far more shells loose in less space too. I can feed 8 rounds into a tube fromdump pouch and fire off four within the time it takes to reload the AA-12.

Plus you have to remember a tube fed shotgun lighter and far smaller so it can be carried as backup in a scabbard. You can feed the ammunition as you fire it. It wouldn't be in your best intrest to wait until the magazine is empty before reloading. You can insert more shells at any moment. With the AA-12 you have to contend with that stupid drum which is more of a drawback than a benefit.

Being able to fire the gun is more important than fubling around around just so you can put a lot of ammunition into. With a standard shotgun you could just keep sliding two or one shells in at a time and stay in the fight at all times if it ciomes down to that.

Well I wouldn't want just one weapon. I would go with a combination of shotgun, assault and pistol.

It's been said before but a shotgun is way to situational where as the right assault rifle can be used in every situation. But yeah these things are stupid because everybody makes up their own rules because zombies aren't real so everybody thinks of them differently.

I voted sub-machine-gun. Shotguns are slow. Assault rifles will just poke little holes in the zombies. Imagine the amount of damage you could do with a Thompson.

Shotgun. Lets face it, if you are inexperienced with firearms, you will be blowing through assault rifle ammo. Shotgun is a little more forgiving.

If ABC,CBS and Fox continue airing all of the brain cell destroying **** they have been for the pastseveral years the streets will eventually be flooded with zombies. But I don't think they would be out to eat brains, they would beout to get more batteries for their remotes.

Not when they are close. When targets are close they are hard to miss. Shotgun shells are just too big and heavy to use a shotgun as a primary. I say lighter smaller ammunition would be more important. Having more ammo and carrying less weight would be more important.

Makes sense, but at least where I am, shotgun ammo will be in more abundance than any assault rifle. Unlike video games, ammo won't be in convinient pile. Sadly, I've had this conversation with friends and most of them think they will be able to just run and gun like in Left 4 Dead, which would probably be highly unlikely.

I don't know about that, because where I live you can find 7.62x39, x51, x62 and 5.56x45mm ammunition EVERYWHERE. More so than shotgun because target shooters like to shoot rifles, not shotguns.

Some say it was the most powerful water gun of all time. Some say its range is over 50 feet. A rumor says that it was so powerful it blew some kid's eye out. Whether you believe that rumor or not, the CPS 2000 has a history of being extremely powerful. Use it responsibly.

.22 semi-auto rifle with a few 30 round clips and a suppressor. Could shoot all day long without getting sore. Carry thousands of rounds without much trouble, and the suppressor on a .22 can be so quiet that you only hear the firing pin. Out of the options, I would choose an assault rifle, likely an AK-47 due to how easy it is to find the ammo for it.

Do you have any idea of how little stopping power a .22 has? There's a reason people only use them for pest control.

BUT who really uses a shotgun to shoot single slugs when they could just get a rifle? People use shotguns because firing a scatter of 8, 9, 15, 18, 27, 48 or how many ever slugs the shell contains is more destructive than a pistol. Other than that it just makes a lot of noise so it sounds cool.

you dont need stopping power, though. You need accuracy, reliability, ammo capacity, and controlability.

Unless your first bullet stops a zombie dead (in short, you hit him in the head), you might as well throw rocks at him.

So sure, your .357 magnum bullet might blow off a part of his shoulder, but he is not out of combat yet. And while you are reloading your 6-chamber revolver or 7-bullet clip, I will be sitting happy with my .22 banana clip that holds 75 rounds lol

Sure I'd go with a .22 magnum. A .22 long rifle or short wouldn't be the best choice since it deflects off of hard surfaces and lodges in others. It's not uncommon for people who have been shot with a .22 LRhave it lodge in bone. People have actually survived a .22 LR to the head because their skull was so hard and thick that the slug just lodged in their skull. Not to say shooting someone in the head with a .22 LR won't penetrate their skul and kill them but it's not the most reliable round for shooting humans..22 short and .22 LR was made for target shooting and shooting critters. A .22 Magnum on the other hand... I'd take it and be happy with it.

But .22 rounds can't penetrate a skull. (Unless point blank, which I've had the disdain of doing once. Poor squirrel :( )

Slug and pellet is solid shot versus scatter shot. They are old school terms. One shot is solid, it's complete while the other shot is scattered. Where do you think the term scatter gun comes from? A Pellet is a slug, it's small slug. A bullet is a slug. Many of the slugs in shot shells are not pellets, they are actually .32 -.38 caliber slugs similar to what you would find in a handgun cartridge.

Sure I'd go with a .22 magnum. A .22 long rifle or short wouldn't be the best choice since it deflects off of hard surfaces and lodges in others. While that is true, you can easily squeeze off a lot of rounds in a short period of time and since the gun is so light and has basically no recoil, you can be really accurate at 200 yards. Even if the first round doesn't penetrate the skull, the second one surely would, and with the gun creating so little sound, you wouldn't attract much attention. You also have to keep in mind that, with cargo pants/shorts, you can easily fit a couple thousand .22 rounds in your pockets alone, and it wouldn't hinder you too much. The same can't be said for any other kind of round.

I was just .22 shooting, and I'd know that you have to be a damn good shot to hit something at 200 yards.
