I think it should even though i dont smoke it. There is nothing wrong with it, it just makes you feel high and actually good. But its bad for your brain if you do it like every day. Like alchole is good on occasions but you dont drink all the time because its bad for your liver. But if you drink once in a while it good be actually good for you. Also it would be titled " Crime". People would no longer look at it as cool or bad. The one thing you have to watch out for though is driving while high but its just like alchole. Meth should also not be sold at night time becaues that can lead to bad things. Thats the one problem, over do'ers and drivers while doing it.Psychosisrain

Other than how addictions to it tend to make people violent? Anyway, I'm going to copy and paste from what I said in the heroin thread since what I said there applies well here...

Anyway, I think comparing marijuana to meth is a bit of a weak analogy, seeing as how meth is an arguably more physically addictive, more serious drug, and more likely to cause crimes involving victims. I have to wonder just what the basis for comparing marijuana to meth is anyway. If it's that they're both illegal, remember that "legal" is not a chemical property.

That said, though, as with marijuana, a similar distinction should be made between what's wrong with a certain activity and what's wrong with legalizing that activity, and while ultimately the two are related, that doesn't mean your answer to one has to be your answer to the other... I'm on the fence about this one...

why because they are addicted to a substance? Do your parents have a drinking problem? Anyone you know? Do you want them lit on fire? I've got an idea... instead of putting millions of people in jail for this phony "war on drugs".. why don't we treat these people's diseases with love and care rather than isolation and disrespect in a cell... grow up

Why in the hell are they addicted in the first place? The tooth fairy shoot 'em up in the middle of the night when they were kids? They don't deserve respect or love or care, and if a family member of mine was a worthless druggie (actually, at least five of them are, and they ruin their own lives and the lives of everyone around them with their selfish and disgusting addictions that they willingly walked into), I would have no problem with them rotting in jail for a few years.

lol Meth is one of the worst things out there. You are joking right? They go crazy, rob, steal, ruin their lives. No way son.

When was the last time you heard someone on weed kill theirself, murder someone, overdose, or ruin their entire life over it.

Yes, because meth and heroin are perfectly analogous to weed.

You mean other than my second cousin, who is currently serving a forty-year sentence for repeated offences of selling pot (specifically pot) to kids? Not to mention using it herself?

Meth is made almost all from Chemicals, weed is grown. Meth can screw you up faster and more severe.

wait wait wait... im not completely sure, but aren't you a Christian? Did you not completely just contradict yourself? Do you really believe that Jesus (if you believe in him) would feel the same way as you? People have problems. The worlds an imperfect place. I love my my mom, but she's an alcoholic. I may not agree with her when it comes to how much she drinks, but I still love her and have acceptance for what she chooses to put in her body. Since I care for her, I'm sure to voice my opinion, but even if she doesn't listen, I still love her and want to help her.

I find that hard to believe... a forty year sentence.. but even if you're not exaggerating, there wouldn't have been a problem in the first place if marijuana was legalized.... alrite im taking a shower... I'll check for any responses when I return..

Ahha, no, Jesus wouldn't feel the same as I do, but luckily for the world, I'm not Jesus.

Um.

You don't see a problem with selling marijuana to children?

Um.

I said her offences were repeated. Florida has a three-strike law, meaning your repeat offences get you longer jail time, and if you do it three times you get either the death penalty or life in prison.

Heh, I think a better approach would be first offence, they're given a relatively light sentence, but second offense, slam down on them. I do believe in giving people a second chance, but there's not as much reason for a third.

Anyway, I get the impression that proctorsurf didn't read your post carefully, because the first time I read your post I thought you were saying she was jailed for forty years for using pot herself. That said, it's up to proctorsurf to speak for himself/herself on why he/she said what he/she said.

As for my response to that post, you were talking about someone jailed for selling pot to kids... but is marijuana itself to blame for that? I think you yourself mentioned something about selling cigarettes to kids, I'm not sure, but are cigarettes to blame for that then? So in that case should the fact that some people sell children cigarettes mean cigarettes should be illegal?

YES!

There is NO reason to have cigarettes legal except to kill millions of people and give cancer to thousands more, except for the good ol' "They can do what they want to themselves" cop-out.

but it's a waste of jail space for them doing it to their own body. They're not hurting other people, but themselves. Instead of pissing away money on the drug war, utilize it for advanced rehab treatment. That way you're getting people out of jail and off the street more efficiently

You mean so they can walk out, do the same exact **** again, go back in, and so the process repeats itself until someone starts complaining about how they shouldn't be put in rehab either? No thanks.

I'd rather the jails be available for a rapist, opposed to someone who injects substances into his body to feel good.

Methamphetamine is legal, if you have a prescription to help fight obesity or narcolepsy. It's true. Desoxyn, look it up ;)

Oh... fair enough, I didn't know you were against keeping cigarettes legal, I guess I'm just so used to seeing marijuana compared and contrasted with tobacco that I thought of it in terms of the "marijuana vs. tobacco" approach and it didn't occur to me to consider the possibility that you believed in the same approach for tobacco as you believed in for marijuana. My apologies.

Ok, so your position is a bit more consistent than I initially got the impression that it was... what about fast food, though? Some fast food can be fairly unhealthy too. According to my sister (who's done all the courses for a nutrition degree and is recieveing the degree itself in a few weeks) 2 grams of trans fat in one day is bad, and yet ONE bucket of KFC popcorn chicken has 16 grams of trans fat. One could argue that fast food might be killing people, and yet some believe that we shouldn't even be TAXING it higher than other food let alone banning it because that would be interfering with consumer choice in the free market... what do you think of that?
