I know it's not personally mine or anyone else responsibility but it's not really that much of a big deal to at least donate just a few bucks, and if everyone or near everyone chipped in, then it would a giant difference, so I don't see why people are so stingy about it.

If you have money available, then donate if you want. Sure, people can say they have a lot of money, but I don't think they should be drained dry because they have money. And I don't know why people keep bringing up the Haiti, Katrina, starving kids in Africa, etc. Unless you are helping them on a daily basis, I suggest stepping off of your soapbox.

Yes people should donate if it is their choice.

I donated and was glad to. Despite what some have said in a similar thread (I think in the UK Forums), I really do feel that despite how well Japan were doing economically, this triple disaster of earthquake, tsunami and the nuclear plant leaks (or whatever way you could best describe all the problems there) has done much more damage to life than mere posessions and wealth.

[QUOTE="call_of_duty_10"] I wanted to donate, but after looking at that pic,I am not so sure. I want to kick that pikachu in the pic.

call_of_duty_10

You obviously have no soul.

I guess you are joking. Why would I feel bad about kicking something that doesn't even exist?

Japan is far more useful to us that Haiti, we should give them more money.

Yeah I don't want to sound insensitive but Haiti and Africa will be in poverty for the foreseeable future. They are always going to need aid, while Japan will not.

A donation is an act of kindness. No one is more deserving of kindness then someone else. You don't earn more kindness because your problem is "bigger" then someone else's. Its kindness, we all deserve it equally.

If you can afford to donate you should donate. Just because they're a developed nation doesn't mean that this event hasn't affected them.

I'm British but certainly would hope in the event of something happening in the States, doesn't matter about the country, it's religion, race, or colour of skin, although I do honestly believe that more emphasis is put on helping foreign disasters and problems and localised problems and charities (homeless, aged, etc) are ignored. In christianity we (and I use thew royal we as I'm not that religious but was bought up a christian) have a saying that charity begins at home, seems nowadays though that we're forced to help everyone else first, oh well
