What do you guys think about Salviadivinorum? I just ordered some 10x out of curiousity and I'm really curious to see how it is. For those who are unsure what it is, it's a plant you smoke and essentially you hallucinate and "experience multiple realities" for 5-15 minutes. In many states you don't even need to be 18 to smoke it. I think at most, an age restriction should be placed on it. But I'm all for more freedom - I think it should remain legal in Washington (and became legal in the 9 states that have banned it).

What do you think? Like marijuanna, it hasn't taken any lives, isn't addictive, and isn't known to cause any brain damage.

I've smoked it about 5 times and the most I ever got from it was enhanced colors and the inability to properly speak words for 5 minutes. Not that impressive to be honest.

I don't think it should be...but then again, I've never smoked it. Also, I live in one of the few states where it's illegal.

Never tried it, but its legal here in arizona. I saw a couple people do it, and heard some bad stories from others. Doesn't really seem like something I care to experience, but I dont care if others do, cause its not hurting me

A lot of people don't smoke it properly, and experiences are unique. Many people smoke it and never feel a thing. It's supposed to have a reverse tolerance. The more you've done it, the bigger the effect. What exactly did you smoke? Leaves? 10x? 20x? Where did you get it from?

All I know is that it cost about 13 bucks from the smoke shop I went to , and the leaves were very dry.

Most people can't get any effect off of the leaves. I haven't actually done it before so I can't comment, but I've heard 20x (20 times the potency of leaves) is the "sweet spot". A lot of people smoke it expecting it to be a more intense version of an illegal green drug we can't speak of - but it's supposed to be an intense experience. Not something to spice up your day.

Scary. Seems like he had a bad trip.

Most trips i've witnessed people experience were kind of along those lines, right there.

I suppose it is different, though, depending on how much you do, how strong it is, and what frame of mind you are in/your surroundings.

That being said, you have to be so freaking careful with hallucinagens.

The slightest thing that can go wrong, WILL go wrong if you are not careful.

Plan it out before you ever try ANY hallucinagens (lcd, mushrooms, salvia). It is VERY serious business, and you should NOT be doing these drugs if you are just interested in getting "wasted" or "totally f-ed up" for the hell of it. That's not what these drugs are for.

Prepare yourself, also, for

unwanted life-changing spiritual experiences

BE CAREFUL.

Definitely. Salvia isn't something to be abused. If consumed, it should be done in a controlled environment and should be done with a positive attitude. A lot of people go into it expecting one thing, and come out having experienced something else entirely.

Long as it stays legal in Canada I really don't care. You start taking my possible vices and I get angry.

Depends on how we define what should be legal and what shouldn't. If it's on the harshness of the trip than perhaps it should be banned. If it's based on addictiveness and the chance of inflicting harm than it's probably fine staying legal assuming what I've heard is true about it. I assume having a "safe" alternative could prevent some people from going to harder drugs too. As a person who doesn't really give a crap about drugs I just have to say: At the moment if you do it it's your choice and it's only a few minutes of tripping and then you're pretty much back to normal. If a person wants to go on a trip like that it's best they use something like Salvia rather than an alternative which can seriously mess you up in the long term. Respect is one thing but your brain steam is another /Cheesy Drug awareness voice.

I've never done any sort of drug, but I don't really know. I've heard salvia is a hallucinogenic, which I believe could potentially be a gateway drug to shrooms or acid, which isn't a can of worms I'd like to have opened, in the US or in canada where I live.

I'm going to try it for the first time this month or next month. It's illegal in my state (North Dakota) and has been for about three years, but I live nearly on the border of North Dakota and Minnesota, so I will do it in Minnesota where it is legal (well, they've passed legislation to make it illegal on August 1st). I am all for the legalization of ALL drugs because I believe that people should have the right to ingest/consume whatever they want to. I believe that your body is your own. If you want to take drugs, then so be it. I'm not condoning drug use and I'm not trying to imply that drugs are good, but instead I'm saying that if people want to partake in personal experimentation, I don't see why they shouldn't be allowed to. I'm all for personal freedoms as long as they don't infringe on anyone else's.

Shrooms (or rather their active ingredient psilocybin) and LSD are actually two of the least dangerous drugs on the planet. They are completely non-addictive and are as far as I know basically impossible to OD on.

And if I could, I'd wipe both off the face of the earth. I think both are a disgusting poison that young people especially get sucked into and can't get out of. Most people start as teens and don't ever stop because it becomes just another thing they do. I believe that there should be much much stricter penalties on underage people having alcohol, cigarettes, salvia, whatever, that's legal but only after 18/19/21 whatever the age is in your area for it. If people start when they're older they're less likely to be doing it to be "cool" and to fit in, and they'll be criminally responsible for themselves should they do something stupid.

I wasn't so much worried about the ODing, but moreso the thrill seekers looking for a more extreme hallucination over time once the current drug of choice becomes just meh, leading to either trying a cocktail of drugs which could cause an overdose, or the hallucination leading the person to do something physically dangerous. I've heard various stories of people in my area taking hallucinogenic drugs and thinking they're doing something they're not, which results in drowning, being hit by cars, and one guy who electrocuted himself to death somehow. Like I said I don't know all that much about drugs, but I've heard some really scary crap, and besides that I'd rather not have to deal with people who are seeing things that aren't there running around in public.

It might as well be, since its effects are more severe than many already illegal substances. I don't see any harm in it, but it's surprising that the government hasn't yet.

Public intoxication is already against the law, for exactly that reason.

Most people who do shrooms and LSD do so and then just go sit on the couch and enjoy it. Deaths as a direct consequence of having consumed LSD or shrooms are exceedingly rare, and are generally the result of someone who was already a candidate for a Darwin award simply having that trait amplified.

Most things are illegal in the US, except in California, where they elect bad actors into politics, put labels like "this product is known in the state of California to cause cancer" on products, yet legalize ganga. Go figure. Long live the blaze.

Salvia was made illegal here in North Carolina back in December 1, 2009, kinda sucks. Anyway Salvia is an interesting experience, but it's not all that great. Gives you an intense trip for 5-10 minutes and that's it. More enjoyable trips come from shrooms, DMT, and of course, the good A.

Is the trip noticeably different from say LSD or shrooms?

Pretty much the reason why drugs like that are illegal and should remain so.

What do you think? Like marijuanna, it hasn't taken any lives, isn't addictiveKHAndAnime
You actually think Marijuanna isn't addictive to the people who smoke it every single day? It's a drug, of course it can be addictive.

It's no more addicting than eating good tasting food, playing games, or watching TV. Meaning that it isn't chemically addictive - it's only addictive in the sense that it's enjoyable to do.

As long as you aren't expecting a "party" out of it. But if you want to experience something otherworldly (for better or worse) for 5 minutes, I couldn't imagine a better way of doing so.
