Should they be segregated by age? The reason why I ask this is because there are some kids as young as 12-13 years old on these forums and people that are like in their mid 30's to early 40's on here! That's old enough to be one of parents! I don't think I 13 year should be conversing among people of that age.

Also, as much as OT talks about very MATURE things amongst each other, who knows what can happen… A 13 year old kid can be giving a 38 year old man dating advice:?, or there can be a thread about sex, drugs, and violence and these kids could very well be getting sex tips from guys nearly 3 times their age!!!

What do you OT'ers think?

If what they say does not physically or emotionally hurt you, then no it should not be segregated, who cares how old someone is on a "gaming forum" just my "2c"

if little kids need sex advice on a gaming forum, then obviously their parents are not doing something right.

Isn't that part of the experience though? I mean this way we receive input from people of all ages and backgrounds right?

Yeah, great way to break up the community.

As far as I'm concerned, if some kid clicks on a thread that quite clearly warns of mature content, that's his/her responsibility.

Besides, Jandurin would need a forum of his own.:P

I think it's reasonable to suggest that most kids would be uncomfortable with asking their parents for sex advice.

Ehh, the kids would just fake their ages and post in the "mature" forums anyways. Best to just not create the temptation.

That won't change anything. You'll still have "kids" gonig to the "adult" section, because they'll find it cooler to post in. And maturity is not based on age at all.

Well what I mean is if you are 13 and your trying to find best ways to do it, OR your giving advice because you have experiece or because your planning on it later and stuff like that, well that's just bad parenting. 13 yolds should be having sex yet if they are it's obviously because their parents are watching them close enough.

Well, that's true but bragging about your grammar as a sign of maturity wasn't very constructive in my opinion. That's fine with me though, I'm one of the more immature posters but that doesn't stop me from questioning BS. :P

come on you think 13 year olds come to GS forums to get sex advice to improve their sex life? i doubt it.
even if they do i dont think it has anything to do with bad parenting, but im not a parent and have no idea what it is about.
i guess each parent has his own morals he want to give to his child, maybe some parents want their children to be open to this whole topic

That would not work. An age confirmation doesn't keep 13 year old's from looking at porn, why would it keep them off of a mature board?

Not a good idea in my opinion. You only need to be 13 to sign up on to Gamespot. By that age, children should be willing to accept and understand that this is a mature forum (and it can be immature).

That said, it's against the code of conduct to link to porn or anything like that, so all yOu have is discussion on the subject or on adult game titles or something like that.

Children can witness a lot more heady stuff on TV.

That would work if people didn't lie about their age on the Internet. Of course, they do. Including myself. (Don't suspend me or anything, I'm old enough to be on this site, according to the ToS. If a mod or admin wants to know, PM me.)

Not really. When I saw that, I thought of the phrase "separate but equal", which is the crap pro-segregationists used.
