Should the Game Spot forums be segregated?

Anyway, OT shouldn;t be segregated in terms of age. Most of the youngest users are pretty mature and so long as we don;t get juvenile idiots on the forum I'm cool with the way it works.

Meh the way you put it, its kinda true in a way. But what can you do? That whole thing would be way to extreme, there would be no way to validate the DOB becauase ppl would/can jus change it..

One thing. You cannot be 12 on here. If you're under the age of 13, you're banned.

Secondly, sure there may be 30 or 40 year olds on this site, but how do you know that? You don't know how old someone is unless you ask them. If you don't want to converse someone who is that age, then don't. That's simple. If the parents do not want their children talking to those who are 20+, then they should be watching their actions and watching who they are talking to, along with the child making the decision of not talking to the person. It's like any other forum. You don't know how old the person is unless they tell you. If they don't, then you never know.

Should they be segregated by age? The reason why I ask this is because there are some kids as young as 12-13 years old on these forums and people that are like in their mid 30's to early 40's on here! That's old enough to be one of parents! I don't think I 13 year should be conversing among people of that age.

Also, as much as OT talks about very MATURE things amongst each other, who knows what can happen… A 13 year old kid can be giving a 38 year old man dating advice:?, or there can be a thread about sex, drugs, and violence and these kids could very well be getting sex tips from guys nearly 3 times their age!!!
