Not fully. I was at six flags the other day, and it was sooo damn hard to find areas that we were "permitted" to smoke. They're so confined, and small, that it's a total inconvenience to hunt for one, and you have to go out of your way to get involved in the area if you aren't a smoker. In open areas, like general public streets, there is more than enough room to maneuver for both parties to avoid each other.
Things like bars, or restaurants should have their own say on how they go about it. It's their place, and if one party doesn't like it, then get out. Unless it's a franchise, because then they have set rules that they all follow to the dot.
Yes, it should. I don't like walking down the street and getting an unwelcomed whiff of tobacco smoke. It stinks to high heaven and just doesn't feel healthy when it's in your nostrils, mouth, throat, and lungs. I don't know why anyone would willingly smoke.
Smoking is pretty much banned in all public and private buildings where I live. I have to say going out and eating/drinking is a lot better when I don't have to deal with the smoke.
A total ban on all public smoking would be to much. We've already crossed a lot of limits imposing rules on private institutions about allowing smokers. Eventually enough will be enough.
It's already becoming socially unacceptable to be a smoker. I think it will just work itself out of our culture naturally.
I hate breathing in second hand smoke, so I don't really care. But I don't like the idea of the government telling people what they can and cannot do, what's next? Not being allowed to swear in public?
Oh Wait
See this is what I'm trying to get at. One step can lead to something else, I do hate second hand smoke though so I wish smokers would be more considerate, I just walk around them. And why do smokers get smoking breaks on jobs, but we non smokers don't get any breaks at all? What the hell is that crap?
Who the hell gives smokers extra breaks? Sure the term "smoke break" has been around since the 1920's, but I've never heard of anyone getting extra breaks to smoke. Everyone I know gets the same length of time for a break whether you smoke or not. Some people divide up that time throughout the day to go smoke, but they don't get more time off.I hate breathing in second hand smoke, so I don't really care. Define public, if we are talking like buildings and restaurants many states have already done that. But personally there should be no smoking in buildings to many harms of second hand smoke.
In the streets i really don't see any reason to do that
Is it even possible to smoke without doing it in public besides inside your house?Pvt_r3d
I usually go in alleys....
Sh*t I should just live in my cabin in the middle of nowhere. Noone will ever disturb me.

It feels good. Which is why I don't smoke much.
I hear a lot of things being banned these days, you'd think the government or smaller State/State City governments would eventually run out of targets on their list to ban next...Captain52when you run out of the original list, you gotta justify your reason to continue to exist. find other things to ban.

The government should ban cigarettes alltogether, i've lost too many family and friends to those vile, repulsive things. Smokes are just tickets to an early grave.

So should the government also ban high fat, high cholesterol and sugery foods as well?
No, they're actually food products with arguable benefits, cigarettes have no benefit at all.
