[QUOTE="-PaCMaN-"][QUOTE="ithilgore2006"][QUOTE="-PaCMaN-"][QUOTE="ithilgore2006"][QUOTE="-PaCMaN-"][QUOTE="Jandurin"][QUOTE="-PaCMaN-"] Thats one of the points and I don't think many people here know where I'm getting at. Especially when they say things like "Its White and it's a house"

Umm. We get it. We just think you're wrong.About what? I don't know about here, but off of this board and in the real world some people have an issue with it. and it has been like that for some time now.

Can they explain one valid reason why it being the colour white is a problem?
Some think it shows favoritism toward the type of people they want to occuply it, and it was built by slaves. Giving the content of the replies here ..I'm starting to think if the name was change their would be a lot of angry people. I wonder why? Users are saying it's just a color and name but if they change it i think all hell will break loose. lol

Those people are idiots. They are simply seeing racism where they want to. They painted it white to cover up burns from a fire. That's it, it's the best colour for that syle building and the best colour to cover up the burns, nothing more. it wasn't chosen to be the paint colour white as some sort of "white superiority" crap. They are simply seeing racism where they want to.
I think so too but I still think the name was in poor taste also.

How is it in poor taste? The house is white... why not just call it The White House. It's easy to remember and distinguish from other government buildings.
Because it a was built by slaves in racial times and with the times changing now...It can use a new name that will be more appropriate to all Americans.
You know what is funny about this? I asked many people about this over the last 3 days and every last white person either said keep it white or had a problem saying anything at all about it. Almost every back person said change the name they didn't care about the color. While a few Latinos and Asians flip flip both ways. Interesting. My point is until we become more sensitive towards each others views on issues then there will be no peace or change for the better.
