Look, this is not a sexist thing but the fact of the matter is that ifmy girlfrienddepended on me to make meals & clean up then she would starve to death in a messy home. I just can't do it like she can. Maybe it's just better if we stick to what we're good at.

I think both the man and the woman should have a part in cooking and cleaning.

Everyone should. Man and woman both. How else can they learn to depend on themselves?

The cooking imo (since I'm fairly average in this department) but I can more than help with the cleaning.. sometimes I do it all if I feel bored.

no

i cook

therefore, I do not clean in the relationship. The dishes at least.

And if my wife does not work (she would, honestly, I don't think I'd marry a simple housewife), the house better damn well be taken care of, otherwise that is not a mutually beneficial relationshio.

Whoever doesn't work should do the majority of the housework. If both work, then the burden should be shared.

They should be allowed to cook and clean, but they shouldn't be forced to do so.

Not necessarily. I enjoy cooking, so I cook for myself and whomever else is hungry. I am not a dirty person, so I clean up after myself and I loathe it when people wash my clothes. Pisses me off like you wouldn't believe. Short answer, I do not want a a person doing things for me that I could easily do for myself.

. I just can't do it like she can. Maybe it's just better if we stick to what we're good at.

Cooking and cleaning is not some gift women are born with.

Even though my room is usually a mess, I hate it when the kitchen is. I cook a lot and it sucks when people don't want to help out and clean the kitchen. Namely talking about my siblings as either me or my dad will finish taking care of it. My mom does help out sometimes lately more cooking, but I've been doing the majority for the past couple of years. So I would say people should always work together.

Well I cook for a profession, so in all honesty, 99% of the meals I cook for my girlfriend and I. We don't live together, so we clean our own living areas. In other words, no I don't think so.

If I'm a better cook then I would rather be the one making meals. Of course,I would take interest in her cooking ideas as a relationship should involveboth people working together.Cleaning and washingdon't really require anyskill at all so I think we should both take care of them.

It's like with my mother. I don't expect her to do all thecooking or cleaning, but my dad can't do any of that **** if his life depended on it. There is some sort of "dependency" though and if myparentsswitched "roles"I would have a "dependency" on my dad. It has nothing to do with gender.

edit: I'm not saying I don't help out around the housethough...

Wouldn't mind the cleaning because I can barely cook, still learning. Overall, a compromise would be nice between the sexes.

IMO if both people work, they should share the duties. If a person is a stay-at-home mom/dad, they should do it all. But honestly, if one of you cooks like absolute crap, then they should do the cleaning and the other person should do all the cooking.

It has to do with who wants to do what, and who is good at what.
We shouldn't try to designate tasks to genders.

Depends on if they stay home and watch the babies. If they have jobs, too and don't stay home, then no, it should be shared equally.

My sig is a parody of Initial D from Lucky Star. I guess most of the characters in Lucky Star look like they are 12.

I don't doubt you. I'm sure you could cook circles around me. The only thing I've ever really " cooked " was instant noodles. :P Curious, are you a chef or a restaurant critic or something?
