BURZUM is the one and only

Black metal is getting more and more generic.....but i am enjoying mirrorthrone, infernal war(black/thrash) atm

anyway how's the new burzum album?
worlock77
Surprisingly good for a man who spent most of a decade and a half away from a guitar. It's much better than I was expecting.
I thought it was disappointing. The album was rather flat-sounding and invoked no feeling inside me. Its a shame since Hvis Lyset Tar Oss is such a classic.[QUOTE="worlock77"][QUOTE="Amartherion"]

Weren't you the one who liked Turisas?
Production wise? I'm dying to check it out!

Production wise it's about what you'd expect from Burzum. Varg used the same studio he's always used. It's maybe a bit better sounding than the older albums, though I'm guessing that would just be due to advances in studio equipment in the years since he's recorded there. Music wise, forget the synth albums, this one picks up pretty much where Filosofem left off.

Varg has intentionally low quality because it helps make the atmosphere.

Right, hence how any improvement in sound is likely due simply to more advanced studio equipment rather than to any deliberation on Varg's part.
hi treble fast tremelo picking, chromatic scale works, echoey high pitched shriek and satanic/frost lyrics = awesome!!!!!
[QUOTE="Bluestorm-Kalas"]If Immortal only released Pure Holocaust, At the Heart of Winter, Sons of Northern Darkness and maybe All Shall Fall then I'd agree with you :P If Immortal released all albums at the quality of At the Heart of Winter, they would be my favorite band of all time.Immortal > All. *signs*
