Sin City is still fuming over Obama's anti-tourism rant

LAS VEGAS - President Barack Obama has a Sin City problem that won't go away. Nevada state officials and residents alike are still fuming nearly two years after Obama discouraged corporations that received bailout money from holding lavish meetings in Las Vegas. Then last year, Obama said Americans saving for college shouldn't blow the cash in Sin City. State officials and residents in this economically ravaged state perceived the comments as a rant against the tourism industry. The friction has resurfaced as Obama counts on Nevada's support for re-election next year. He's to visit a Las Vegas neighborhood Monday as part of a nationwide tour to sell his jobs plan. Former Nevada Gov. Bob List says Republicans plan to remind voters at every opportunity that Obama slammed the industry that employs most Nevadans. Story here. i am not the one making blanket one size fits all statements. college is a gamble, sadly more people go to Vegas knowing what they are actually doing than those in college. if you dont go to college after first looking into the trends in the job market youre betting a lot more time and money on what is essentiallya throw of the dice. i personally love what learning institutions stand for, but going into a field of interest to major in minutia without future consideration is a worse bet than most of what you will find in casinos. if you have the time money and interest for ancillary schooling GREAT, but we are talking about investments here, and because of gaming laws, the chances of going home broke a less real in vegas than they are for college students as a whole.
