sometimes i think cops do things unnecessarily. me and my friend were swimming at her neighborhood pool one night, it was after pool hours so really, we weren't supposed to be there. but all we were doing was swimming, weren't vandalizing or smoking pot or anything. then a police car pulls up, we get out and start drying off before the cop comes to the gate. i know that technically we were in the wrong because we weren't supposed to be there, but then another cop car pulls up. i didn't really see the point of the second cop car..

What happened after that?

the first cop that pulled up came over, took our information, went back to her car, came back and gave me my license back, and told us a neighbor called and said there had been trouble with vandalism at the pool and just asked that we leave, and we complied.

Yeah. The second cop was totally unecessary. Is it just me or do cops seem to always to miss the really bad things you do but will stop you for minor stuff?

[QUOTE="sexy-hippo"] I'm starting to get mad because you keep saying I'm mad. I'm not mad at the cops. I find this situation a bit comical. Cops aren't easy too spot when you have windows are dark as mine, they are barely legal. I didn't drive like crap. You are over exagerating that. I'm sure you would swerve a little every once in a while when your car pulls to one side. I didn't get anything because the cop who stopped me didn't have a reason to ticket me other than the lisence. Yeah. I know I can get in trouble for that. I know he was being nice. I know I didn't have weed crumbs in my car because that would involve me having weed out in my car, which has never happened.sexy-hippo

You sure seem upset...enough to make a thread and complain
I have the legal limit tint as well. It is still easy for me to spot cops
You admitted that you deserved a ticket (license)...so what exactly is the issue here.

The cop pulled you over with cause.
He may have been looking for drug users...guess what, he found one (you admitted it)...and he let you go
The title of this thread should have been, 'I just encountered the nicest. most understanding cop ever'

The cops are trying to do their job.
They have to act within the rules...so they look for cause (your bad driving) when they have suspicion (kids gathering at a place where not so legit things happen)
You gave him the cause to act on his suspicion...you allowed him to do his job.

He decided to cut you a break...one for which you do not appear to be grateful for

He found a smell and "crumbs". I wouldn't exactly call that having drugs. I don't carry much at all when I carry it with me. And every time but twice I kept it in my pocket, and I was in someone elses car. Him saying he could scrape up enough to charge me for I don't agree with. I'm bitter about him saying that. Maybe my glove box does smell faintly like weed, but I know I don't have weed in my mud covered floorboards. My band practices at my friends house, it gets really muddy when it rains.

You are just making excuses now
'I usually carry my papers officer'
'There is not enough drugs here to convict me officer'

...wow man...just wow is all I have to say.
I can't believe you made this thread. Some people really do get harassed. You got very luck,y and you are upset...just Wow

Papers? I had my insurance. In my area, (last I checked) three ounces is enough to be charged for. Explain to me how I could have three ounces of crumbs in a floor board where I never had it? I didn't make this thread because I'm upset. I made it to talka bout a situation I was in. But you don't take it as that. And you keep saying things. Yeah. I do think what he said about the weed is wrong, I know don't have that much in there, I am grateful that I didn't get a ticket for not having my lisence. I think its funny that I got pulled over because the cops assumed I was part of a drug deal that didn't happen. I didn't think I would have to put that in the original message but I guess I'll have to.

My point is that the cops (are supposed to) operate within the law.
-this cop did
-he was suspicious b/c of the location and your activity (for reasons I already went over...loitering laws and the reasons behind them)
-if you had not given him probably cause (crappy driving) he could not have pulled you over
-you lacked your papers (license) and he (or the dog) smelt drugs to which you admitted use ...after all that he let you off with nothing

What is 'funny' is that nothing happened to you
Be glad that:
1. the cops are trying to make the area safer by acting within the laws
2. he let you off

This thread should have been about how lucky you are and what a great job the cop did
-he acted within the law to try and make the area safer (you could have been a dealer...he has no way of knowing)
-then he saw you are/were no danger/threat and let you go

Just a friendly FYI, admitting drug use will get you modded here
-we can talk about drug issues, but not drug use

Please. Just shut up. You took this thread out of context and you're cramming stuff down my throat that I already know. I'm not denying ANYTHING. I know I'm lucky. I'VE AMDITTED ALL OF THIS. I find it funny I was suspected of being involved in a drug deal for being at a gas station at the wrong time. Thats what you're supposed to get out of this. That I was suspected of dealing drugs because I was at a gas station at the wrong time. God. Back off.

No reason to get angry TC.
You put a thread out there and you never know how it will turn out...just one of those things.
But no reason to be so upset when it does not go the way you intended.

Though it seems the rest of the people posting here seem to agree with me :?

I don't really think it is your place to say what we are supposed to get out of this thread...people make their own meaning out of what you post.
That is the great thing about human consciousness.

[QUOTE="sexy-hippo"] You've been attacking me since I posted this. I have a right to get upset when you insult my driving and not even know me and harass me for what I think. And continue to harass me when I try to explain things.

It is very hard to read your quotes TC :( I have not attacked or harassed you once though...that makes me sad to hear you say that. All I said was that your driving is what gave the officer probable cause to pull you over. I have quite enjoyed my time here with you. I guess you cannot say the same though. Seems we got off on the wrong post. I even tried to save you from being modderated. Oh well, some people just don't like me it seem You are the one telling me to shut up...which is not very nice btw.
