Singles or full albums?

Do you regularly buy singles of individual songs or do you just wait for the album to come out? Personally I nearly always wait for the album to come out and I only ever buy singles if it is a charity single or the song is not being released on an album. This applies to songs I like by artists I haven't heard before, I would rather buy the whole album than just one song. I'm not quite sure why I think this, I just like having a complete music collection with a limited range of artists (and own most of their albums) rather than lots and lots of artists with only a few tracks by them.

I rarely buy CDs anymore, I only bother getting something if I can appreciate the entire album or a good portion of it.

Depends on the music but I still like to buy CD only because I be driving a lot and my new car can play CD so I prefer to buy the full Album.

I prefer CDs. If I'm just buying a song it's because the band doesn't qualify as worth much TBH.

That entirely depends on the album. Some albums worth listening to all the way through while others are only good for getting a few songs off of.

I've never understood the concept of a single, either to buy or to listen to.

Ever since listening to Pink Floyd, I've always assumed a band or artist is trying to tell a story with the entire album from start to finish. Even listening to an album on "shuffle" doesn't feel right to me. There is something endearing about knowing what song is coming up next and remembering from the last time you listened how much you enjoyed the progression from start to finish.

Depends on the music. I occasionally buy singles if it’s from a band I’m not familiar with, or I’m not really interested in exploring the rest of their material, but at the end of the day I prefer a physical CD for a variety of reasons.

Basically this ^, but even if it's an album I only like 4 songs on, I'd still probably want to get the CD at some point.

I almost always buy albums, in physical form if I can. I would have missed out on so many great, less popular, songs if I only ever bought the singles.

I tend to buy albums. It pretty much plays like this: Find band. Youtube band. Play tracks on repeat via youtube. Get annoyed with youtube. Buy album.
