Mom Punches Skateboarder Who Accidentally Hits Her Son (VIDEO) as details about a skateboarder who accidentally hit a youngster. Both hit the ground. The skateboarder tried to pick the kid up and was telling him sorry when one woman came over to help the boy then another came running up, pushed the skateboarder and then punched him even though the guy apologized.

Should the woman be charged with assault? Do you think she should have kept a better watch on her son and kept him closer to her?

The little kid didn't get hurt that much. It didn't look like he hit his head on the ground at least. He kind of just rolled onto his back.

The mother was way in the wrong imo. That kid was in the middle of a skate park with no skate board just wondering around. He obviously didnt know how to skate and imo shouldnt have been wondering around in the skate park being very young and not skating. Those parks are for people that know how to skate or bike and are much older than that kid (looked like he was only like 6 or 7) That skater obviously didnt see him and apologized for accidentally hitting him. Mother was wrong for attacking him period. Wasnt on purpose and the skater was nice and tried to help.Mkavanaugh77

imo parents go waaaaaaaaaaaaay too aggro these days over their kids, like having a kid is a license to kill or something.

if I got in the way of a skateboarder and got hit, my mom would have been like "Nice job, dumby" to me...not really.  But she would have realized it was an accident and, contrary to popular belief, accidents do happen.

The little kid didn't get hurt that much. It didn't look like he hit his head on the ground at least. He kind of just rolled onto his back.

little kids are made of pillows or some sort of magic material, man, I swear.  You can drop them off a building and after crying for ten minutes, kissing their boo boo, its like nothing ever happened to them.

Im 29, I took a spill at work the other day, and damn...it hurt!  I cant remember the last time I tripped as an adult, but I remember tripping ALL THE TIME as a kid and it was never a big deal lol.

I fully support mothers hitting skateboarders.  Good on her.

I'm not a parent so I can't say that I wouldn't have been a little bit upset but of all the people in the wrong here, it definitely wasn't the skater.

At least the kid hopefully learned not to run directly in front of people skateboarding now.

So a kid accidentally gets hit by skateboarder in a skate park (I think. It' still looked like somewhere pretty out of the way). Then the kids mother punches the skateboarder completely unprovoked.

Yes, he has absolutely every right to charge her. And yes, she's a f*cking idiot to let her child wander around when there's a high likely-hood of such accidents occurring.

I don't think he should press charges though, it'd be mean to the kid. The mom will be put under stress, and at mildest be forced to pay a fee right, all of that would affect the kid...

Depends on the jurisdiction... Simple battery is usually a misdemeanor.  Depends entirely on area/courts/police/skater/district attorney...
