Im not assuming anything..watch the video..He saw the kid at the 3 second mark and decided to continue his run..this isnt just some side walk...its a pretty big open area..It's BS that he said i didnt see him..He saw the kid and decided to continue and thats makes him a douche.

As for the mom? what does that matter? They are at the park...Thats what parks are there for..so kids can play..I can assume the kid was running to see the woman that picked him up after he was struck..One can say thats why the mother was far away...

I will say it again...Good on the mom..The skater lied by saying he didnt see him...bullshit..he didn't care about the kid and for that he should get smacked. Simple mistake my ass

lostrib

You know what, you are right, they are at a park.  That makes it worse.  The skater douche clearly saw the kid.  The kid was PLAYING IN A PARK and he wrecklessly hit him.

He's lucky if the mom doesn't press charges in addition to beating his ass.

Actually if you watch the video he doesn't appear to see the kid.  And I doubt she wants to draw attention by trying to press charges unless she wants to be arrested for assault.

He does though...at the 3 second mark the skater looks up ..at 5 seconds they are both down....in a wide open area? He saw the kid but because they were filming and he stick his first grindhe wanted to continue his line.not giving a shit about the kid..Thats BS and I thats why I feel he deserved it..

Good on the mom..

Since the kid is not in frame until hit you do not know if he was in the way at the time the guy looked up.  If he didn't give a shit about the kid then he would wouldnt have stopped and tried to apologize.  And good on the mom for commiting a crime in front of her kid?

Ohhh god are you serious? The kid not in the frame means nothing..its a wide open area he looks up and 2 seconds later he plows into him for a 85 degree angle? Did you even watch the video? He didnt stop shit..thats the problem..he saw the kid and choose to continue his line thats why he deserved to get smacked.

The video of his line was more important than the kids safety ..Its bullshit... pedestrians always have the right of way...be it on a bike..or whatever..The right thing for him was to stop..he didnt cause he didnt care about the safety of the kid...and wanted the shot... A responsible person would have stopped the run and did another take..he choose to continue without any regard of the kids safety ...So **** him because he thinks that's more important..his lame ass line.. Thats the crime...the mother only reacted to the asshole on the board...he deserved it .. That kid took a hard smack to the head because of this asshole...really? cause of a video? it makes me sick...for a ****ing video..the kid smacks his head...bullshit..

That's your speculation. All that can be seen in the video is that the skateboarder runs into the kid in what appears to be an accident.  It still doesn't give the mother the right to punch the kid

Accident? he could have avoided this by backing down on his line? thats all he had to do..but his choice was to continue for the shot..without regard to the 5 year old...  are you kidding me? he knew the deal and took the risk for the shot...with that type of disregard for kids around his line...he should be smacked...thats like standing up for someone thats DUI...

Just because someone looks up doesn't mean they see anything. Fact, people look at their watch all the time and end up looking at it again within seconds due to the simple fact that they didn't see it the first time.

I don't think he should press charges though, it'd be mean to the kid. The mom will be put under stress, and at mildest be forced to pay a fee right, all of that would affect the kid...

GummiRaccoon

so people shouldn't be held responsible for their actions because they have kids? that's beyond ridiculous...

Actually I have plenty of life experience, which is how I know that situations can change in just a few seconds.  Unless you were there, your entire rant is speculation on the mind set and actions of the skateboarder.  No need for insults, calm down

That's true.  In most public parks where I live skateboarding is allowed even if it's not a skatepark though.  If bicycles are allowed skateboards tend to be.  Now I don't know what the rules are regarding tricks, but just boarding is definitely allowed.

It does not appear that he purposefully ran into the child.  And none of that excuses the mother for punching him

Im not ranting..at all...im talking from the video...you call speculation when really .in my life experience ( skating 15+ years)  and have been in that situation many of times have choose to back down...this asshole make a choice to continue..he deserved to get smacked cause his choice was the shot and not the kids safety

Sometime sh*t just happens.  He clearly didn't mean to and was remorseful and upset about it afterwards.

Sometimes the shit that happens is the angry mother punching you in the face for being an irresponsible douchebag

Wanna know who else is a douchebag?

I'll give you a hint, it rhymes with "yummy".

Maybe the skater learned to stop skating on a sideWALK

GummiRaccoon

It's perfectly legal for him to be there.

"skateboarding on a crowded sidewalk, so safe that even toddlers can walk around"

What the hell, that wasn't a side walk! Are you that dumb or that blind?

At least the people I assault aren't children walking through a park.

For one thing the skater wasn't breaking any laws.

lostrib

WTF does that even mean?...he knew he was risking the safety of people around him for his own bennift..aka the video...he took out a 5 year old for a shot in a video..i weep that people stand up for this...

It does not appear that he purposefully ran into the child.  And none of that excuses the mother for punching him

sorry that's just ignorant....he ran his line without regurd to the people in his line...in this case ...it was a 5 yeear old...he deserved that...he should have been beat the f down even more for that...

Once again speculation on the motives of the skateboarder.  And no, he did not deserve that.  No one deserves to be assaulted for a simple accident

How about being held responsible for behaving unsafely around children?

The skater was being reckless and the kid got creamed.

Speculation? Are you 15 with no life experience? it's not like a dui? Why not?

masiisam

Actually I have plenty of life experience, which is how I know that situations can change in just a few seconds.  Unless you were there, your entire rant is speculation on the mind set and actions of the skateboarder.  No need for insults, calm down

Im not ranting..at all...im talking from the video...you call speculation when really .in my life experience ( skating 15+ years)  and have been in that situation many of times have choose to back down...this asshole make a choice to continue..he deserved to get smacked cause his choice was the shot and the kids safety

still speculating unless somehow you asked him what choices he made.  And no he did not deserve to be punched in the face

Now what if when he looked up the kid was facing the other way and not moving. He assumed the kid wouldn't suddenly turn around and walk into his line.

How do you know he didn't care?  since when is being a dick justification for assault?

That is still not deserving of being punched in the face, at least not legally.

You do seem to like to make assumptions, you have no idea of my life experience.  And you're going to criticize my life experience and call me kid when you can't properly spell or insert spaces between words?

Unless you were there, you have no idea where the kid was in relation to the skateboarder prior to the collision so you don't know what the situation and variables were.

Whether or not he "chose to continue" doesn't justify the mother punching him completely unprovoked in the face. It is impossible to ascertain from the video whether or not he saw the kid before running into him. Making this assumption makes you look stupid.

What a ridiculous fvcking cop-out. You have no evidence, so you fall back on "oh, I've been in this situation before, and you haven't, SO I'M RIGHT!".
