Which would you choose and why? I personally like my small town. Everything can be reached in less than five minutes and my work commute is easy. Plus it isn't as noisy as the city that I used to live in. When I lived in the city, I found driving from one place to another to be a big pain. I hate long commutes and wish my wife had an easier time to and from work. Her commute is about 45 minutes one way.

Which would you prefer to live in? Small town or big city? Sure, there are more things to do in a big city, but maybe you're like me and find it aggravating and frustrating to live in a bigger populated area. OT, what are your thoughts on the matter?

I like big cities, since there are lots more of people to get to know, as well as places to go. Plus, your favorite bands may come to your city once in a while. ~ de arimasu :x

I'm a big city boy. I like to spend time in little towns every now and then to relax and sight see, but I enjoy living in the city where there's always so much to do and see.

I love my big cities. Always have lived in one. I like having options on where to go. I like that I can either walk to a place or drive to a place too.

Plus being in Los Angeles, I have the best of everything I will ever want or need.

boring. I want to hear taxi drivers cursing people out for cutting them off, police sirens every 4 minutes, chatter, cars driving by, the smell of the city air, and well everything that makes the city interesting :P

I prefer a mid-sized city that's geographically small and car-friendly. I like lots of things to do but cities like New York are ridiculously expensive and getting around is tedious.

Are we referring to town and city in terms of size or in terms of the style of government? Some people might get confused like these two guys that I was arguing with that couldn't understand that Palin could be from a small town and a city at the same time.

Small town, I like to live near the nature...just taking a long breath of cool, fresh autumn air and looking at the beautiful view you can watch without great buildings and busy people...

There aren't much better things I could imagine.

Really hard for me to choose. In small towns everyone knows you and everyone gets along. But I really love the city San Francisco and San Diego were my favorite places to live.

I live in pretty much the perfect place. There are about 200,000 people in the metropolitan area here, and the metropolitan area is very large in size. However, because I live in North Dakota, there's still the small town mentality here, even though it's not exactly a small town. I like it...but I'm tired of it.

I'm hoping to move out to Philadelphia as soon as I can. I like bigger cities.

Small town. I live in one and everything is within walking distance: Library, Bowling Alley, School, Grocery Store/Walgreens, ACE Hardware, etc. All within 3 blocks apart.

I love Chicago. I really can't wait to move back there next summer. Right now, I'm stuck right in the middle of Los Angeles and San Diego, about a 45 minute drive to each of those cities. I hate them both with a passion. Sorry, I just like cities that actually have DIFFERENT seasons, not "Hot, Hotter, Really Hot". :)

So, I like big cities with seasons.

I'm torn. I like it here, there are about 30,000 people in my town but 300,000 in the "city and suburbs". But I truly love Chicago and Miami (South Beach really) the only two big cities I've been to for long periods of time. I love life here but my wife and I will see footage of people walking in NYC or somewhere and wonder how much we are missing not living with millions of people.

Small town easy. I'm about to go crazy living in my college town of 6000. That's more than 20x larger than where I used to live.

I grew up in an area of 40k and I really hate it. There was very little to do, and the area wasn't very big on supporting culture.

I lived in a college town that was roughly the same size which was better, but had way to many Chicago-types which are annoying.

I lived in a metro area of 1 million. It was great but everything was so expensive, and way too many tourists.

I lived in a metro area of 10 million, and it was great besides the pollution.

Now I'm in an area of 140k and it seems about the right size.

I live in the small town of Coral gables, right next to the even smaller town of Miami. It takes only seconds to walk from the beach to my house. J/K, but I'd prefer the big city to a small town any day. New York is where it's at, Park Avenue FTW!

I dunno. I would probably choose a place that is on the outskirts of a big city. For example, my cousin lives 30 minutes away from Ottawa, in a town called Kanata, I would like to live there.

Ah, I could see it now....

Me and my wife, living in a small, peaceful town.

I'd have one son, and one daughter. And I'd take my whole family to church every Sunday.

My daughter coming home with a boy... me threatening him when she's not looking.

That is my dream life. :)

Edit: That's not my only dream life, though. I could see myself living in a city too.

Living in a small town even for more than a month would drive me insane.

I love the city, especialy the one I live in now. The riots, the noise, the clubs, the protests, the traffic, the people, the bars, the lights, the festivals, the night life... I love it.

I love small towns. My cousins live in small towns in the north (Connecticut and Colorado), and I love their towns. I see myself living in a small town in the mountains in Colorado one day, just because I love the scenery and the peace.
