I dont think he was specific. But his main point was that non-smokers should just deal with the smoke, and that its not an issue at all for non-smokers to be exposed to smoke.

Well yeah imo 50 feet from their location is a lot.

A good way to achieve that and respecting both is having separate areas for smokers and non-smokers.

Ok. I'm not saying that at all. The current ban has had a lot of positive effects. There should be equal respect amongst smokers and non-smokers. If you see someone smoking, don't walk over in the general area and start complaining about the smoke. And the same goes for smokers. Don't walk up to a person or group of people and light up. Both are very disrespectful.

No, I don't smoke, and I'm thankful my dad quit several years ago. He smoked heavily when I was growing up, and when he quit, the difference at our house was amazing. For one thing, the health benefits are good for him. Two, no more waking up in a cloud of smoke every morning. Three, no more people asking me if I smoked, because they smelled cigarette smoke on me.

One of the annoying things about college is students who smoke. Nothing is more annoying than walking along, and there's someone several feet ahead of you, smoking. If that's the only path you can take to go to your destination, you're stuck breathing in the smoke the smoker leaves behind. Quite irritating.

I like to hang out and study alot at Starbucks, and one of the nice things about the Starbucks stores here in California is that they've banned smoking in their patios and within 10 feet of the patio. It's nice to go into a Starbucks without having to walk through a cloud of smoke, first.

It seems like smoking is getting more restricted in public places. Hopefully, one day, it'll be illegal to smoke in public and we can all live nice, smokeless, odorless, cough-less lives.

Yeah, but I don't go mad with it unless I'm out in town. I have around 5 or 6 on a normal day, but if I'm out with friends I can chain smoke for hours.

No.... I've always wondered why people needed substances and drugs to make themselves feel better.

Now that I'm back from my suspension :D I can spread havoc and mayhem again! :D I'm just joking.

Anyway, I've been driven crazy these past few weeks, and am on the brink of starting smoking. I honestly find it hard to respect people who treat smokers like some foreign being, they're just like the rest of the bunch, they have their reasons.

Trust me. It tastes great, feels great, and has all kinds of wonderful properties but if you consider yourself athletic at all it will totally ruin that.

I hope this response is ok, but...

When I do smoke, every weekend or every other weekend, it's only the "4:20" to calm me down/sooth me/unwind from a stressful situation or a hard day/week of work. kinda like how a cig smoker but no where near as often.

i swear i'm going to get emphysema from walking around my college campus. everyday i must inhale the equivalent to at least 3-5 cigarettes. xJust_CraZyx

Yeah, every single college I've been to has been bad. People are just inconsiderate.

No..and i wouldn't care about smoking if it didn't have the possibility of affecting my health as well...but it does..therefore, people smoking in public places are selfish..

I've tried to play it. My Dad and Grandfather took me a couple times during the summer, but to be brutally honest, I'd rather take a power tool to my skull than sit there for 18 holes...again.

I don't smoke but I have no problem with smokers at all. There seems to be a lot of hate for smokers around here. I don't see why they can't respect other people life choices.

I smoke at a rate of about a pack or two a month. Sometimes I just need one.

I'm also really respectful for other people when I'm smoking in public too. I try to distance myself from a crowd, never exhale when walking past someone, etc.
