Snowden: European mass surveilance comparable to US programs

Europeans work with America, so it should not be a great surprise that they are doing similar things. The Cold War may have ended, but the information obtained from espionage was probably proven to be invaluable and thus the practice continued into modern world and expanded to be adequate in it.

I think anyone with a shred of common sense would have known this.

There was, just not to the scope to describe at great length the actual programs.

It's more of a "No shit, Sherlock!" thing than a "It's totally okay because all my friends do it, too." thing.

Like how some of the Americans have tried to interject some debate over some users not liking the US activities by using the actions of others to compare.
