So.. Avatar: The Last Airbender

When does this show get this-is-one-of-the-best-shows-ever good? I'm on the 16th episode of the first season, and what I've seen thus far has been really good (particularly the two parter.) Does the show get better as it goes on? I've heard from various places that season two is the season where things get.. serious.

It only gets better. In season 2, Toph joins the gang. Also the third season is the best.

It's boring, I've seen it on Nickelodeon a few times. Same thing for the movie.

The first season is ok. The 2nd and 3rd seasons are much better.

The end of season 1 is amazing.

Season I think is my favorite season. Its pretty epic

I'm not gonna say any spoilers but the last episode was epic imo. Reminded me of watching DBZ as a kid.

Got better with time, MUCH better with time.

Character development is the star of the show.

The characters start off cliche in the begining, but really start to develop as the seasons go by. Each of them goes through some sort of redemption. Especially the villians. You will really get into how they mature and grow stronger.

Actually the show itself tells you that the whole cast from the series(except Kataara) is dead. That and the fact that the new Avatar is born at the same time that the previous Avatar dies.

The fact that its "animated" people give it less credit, but man Avatar TLA is one of THE best shows EVER! and yes it gets really serious and epic during BOOK2. STAY AWAY FROM THE FKING MOVIE, Justin beiber directed it.

First season is mediocre, mid way through second is good, third is 'meh'...Inconsistancy

I adored season 1, but for me the quality of the show began to wane around mid season 2.

Book 3 was just god awful.

Aang flying in an elemental sphere was laughable and Ozai turned out to be such a huge p****

The series is awesome. I thought Book 3 was good.

TLA is a really great series with great animation and story, the only problem being a bit too much filler. It gets better by the second and third seasons. TLOK seems to have dumped the filler episodes and improved the animation quite a bit, so far I'm really enjoying it.

It's a really good cartoon show. I would recommend it for anyone who likes a good animated tv show with a continous story and interesting/lovable characters. And yes, I think it gets better with each passing episode.

It does get cheesy and the plot is going to be obvious but it's a kid's tv show, what do you expect, a Stanely Kubrick production? :?

It gets much, MUCH better. Season two is just one of the best anime/cartoon ever created.

Legends of Korra is argueably better than the original Avatar thus far. That is saying quite a lot.... Very good series.

Series gets better season 2...at the mid way point (like episode 11 or so) it starts to speed up. Season 1 was 90 percent filler.

I'm kinda hoping it shows what happened, Aang never really majorly hurt anyone in the orginal series, it'd be interesting to see him mess someone up.

whats so wrong about fillers? season 1 was building up to what 2 and 3 would be, you cant have the show get straight into the serious business.

+ book 1 had some epic moments, like when Aang visits Roku on the solstice. and the final episode when the Water tribe gets invaded, when Aang goes into the avatar state and says "No..it is not over" ....gave me the chills lol

Meh I wouldn't worry to much about those spoilers. I watched The Legend of Korra first and went in reverse to watch Avatar. It ultimately did not ruin the original series for me even though initially I wasn't exactly happy with knowing the results of the previous adventures of Aang and gang. Trust me, focus on what your watching now, don't dwell on it.

Just know it get's better from where you are. Plus the new series is one of the best shows on tv currently... I'll steal an analogy used by some random person about The Legend of Korra. Imagine Avatar being the original Dragonball and Korra being Dragon Ball Z. it's like a whole different ball game, much more mature and the animation is better than anything on TV.

Will it top Avatar? It's hard to say but I don't think anyone can say it's a dissapointment so far.

It's a great show, and the spinoff seems promising too.

i absolutely love this show, i'm a huge Kataang fan, and every single episode on there kept me on my feet and Sokka is just so funny as well, and i love Katara's VA also
