New official link

Now this song is very important considering it is the first work they have put out without the Rev.

I must say, while the Rev can never be replaced, I really love Portnoy's work here. I do believe these were still parts written by the Rev, but still, Portnoy has done an expectedly excellent job here.

Thoughts?

Well clearly the corporate interests think it's pretty important... enough to stalk youtube posts of their product.

It's not released officially until tomorrow. But I think it's fantastic. A mix of City of Evil (you can certainly hear some Beast and the Harlot) and their self-titled 2007 album (also some Little Piece of Heaven in there, I hear), it's solid and perfectly Sevenfold. Can't wait til July 27.

Yah I've waited for a new album from them for a while. I loved both City of Evil and the self-titled album.

Ahhh see I had been seeing their updates on facebook and figured it was released.

Anyways, I definitely feel you on the mix statement. While Waking the Fallen is still my fav album of theirs, I have loved alot of their newer stuff.

Definitely can't wait now though!!!

I follow their Facebook updates as well and they'd been saying May 18. Naturally, it finds its way out early, and Warner is quashing that. 'Til tomorrow.

Alright Avenged put this link up themselves on facebook. It is the official lyric vid of the song.

Nightmare

I am liking this song the more I listen to it. Tis a pleasant surprise for me as I was pretty much thinking of the band as being dead without the Rev....

After city of evil, their music started to suck. Their first two albums are the greatest.

Here it is: Link

maybe it will stay there for a bit longer

I noticed Mike's drumming.I'd rather have The Rev though,he just sounds better when he drums with A7X.

The Rev is irreplaceable that's for sure. He not only had a great and unique style on the drums but his backoup vocals were phenominal. I think I actually liked his vocals better than Shadows...

I will say that I do feel Portnoy has done a very good job at blending in. I am actually surprised at how well it all fits.

I MUST see them live with Portnoy for sure. This will be the only year to see it!

Not the same without the Rev. Still pretty good, but not their best.

Well, considering Mike Portnoy is much better than The Rev, it doesn't really surprise me that the drumming is good.

I still don't like the music though.

They still have some of The Rev's vocals from early recording that they are using on this album.

LostProphetFLCL

Of course...

The Rev was never in Portnoy's universe of drumming skill.

It is true that great talents sometimes don't mesh that well with new bands, though.

The Rev was an incredible drummer. Not sure where I would put him in regards to Portnoy, but the Rev was one of my favorite drummers. He not only had great technical skill but he also had a very unique style to his drumming that really made him stand out.

Awesome. I love it. They couldn't have picked a better drummer to step in for Rev. A damn shame about him, but Portnoy is freaking amazing. Can't wait for the whole album.

See, that's pretty unfair to say that. Each of their albums is a different sound, whether it's a major shift or not. While some songs are comparable, I wouldn't say any two songs are the same.
