Physical attraction is very important but can only take you so far. How you carry yourself will affect how a person sees you as well.

Well I've never dated a guy shorter than 5'10" until that guy I mentioned... so thats what I meant.

So I got rejected for the first time which also happened to be the first time I asked a girl out.I am brutally shatered cuz after getting to know her I just fell in love with her.We have a very good understanding,have a blast together,laugh and what not when we are together.She is single and is actually looking for a partner for a year now,she knows I absolutely love her and yet wont accept me.

Then she asked out my really hot and very good friend whom she did NOT know.That's how worthless and pathetic I am it seems.My friend refused her because of me.

Anyways that was my brief story.Since then I was like trying to tell myself,there are more fish in the sea and blah blah but am really having trouble dealing with reality.

And now people tell me that being short in height is another real bummer.I am only 5"5 and 20 years old so unlikely to get any taller.This girl is 5 feet so I am pretty comfortably taller than her.

I have enjoyed 20 years of my life so far.But seems like I have a very difficult road ahead in search of attractive girls.Good thing life isnt infinite I guess.

DAMN if only I was more attractive I would have gotten this girl,life would be uber perfect dammit.:cry:

I don't know you so I cant say, if its just that, that she wont be with you cause your short, then you shouldn't be with her in the first place.

Sorry, its true. But unless youre a cute guy, its four times harder to get a nice girl at this age. I dont want to say girls turn into sluts or anything (some do, though) but these are the years where the ladies seem to go into heat. You see them at school with their Ugs (how do you spell that anyway?) and those short, frilly skirts and theyre essentially "**** me" to all men, but only targeting some.

Dont worry, you get a little older and it all evens out. For me it happened when I turned 21.

Those identification/driver's license cards come in handy. Technically, I am somewhere around 5'11.5" and yet, according to it, I am listed as 6'0."

Height is a major factor. It doesn't matter how good of a person you are or even if you are handsome at all, if you are average and tall you have a better chance of getting the girl than a short and handsome guy. I'm 5'2 and 21 years old. So you still have three inches of height on me. And yes, I have seen this time and time again, girls around 5'0 are always dating guys that are around 5'10 or higher.

It's just the way the world works I guess. I've never been rejected like that, though I have a lot of girl friends that look at me in a purely platonic way because of my height. Of course all of this is just my opinion from what I've seen personally. But you'll get girlfriends eventually, they just probably will be a couple inches taller than you. I've had a few girlfriends and only one of them was shorter than me. The other's were atleast two inches taller.

When I began dating my boyfriend 4 years he was only 5'7'' while I was 5'3''. I still thought he was super tall. Now he's 6'1'' and I'm just 5'5''. Height shouldn't even matter at all, if he stayed 5'7 I'd still be with him. Seems to me like she has high standards for a boyfriend...really high standards. If that's what shes basing you on, forget about her. But maybe she has other reasons for rejecting you besides your height. You should ask her if you already didn't.

Dude, I think you might be reading too much into this. It probably doesn't have anything to do with your height, most likely she just sees you as a good friend and nothing more, you can't change that if that's how she feels. Just because you love her doesn't mean you should expect her to feel the same way about you, and she's already told you this. You may feel like **** now, but it's really best, for you, if you accept it and move on and try to stop making excuses on why she rejected you. Dwelling on your insecurities won't help you in any way. Let it go and refocus your efforts on building up your self-esteem. I think that's more important for you in the long-run.
