So, Gamespot was a lot worse back in 2004?

GS had Kasavin back then, and he alone made this place better.

The forums aren't too bad now (I think they've been improving as of late) but they were more lenient back then. Dave Toole was the community manager in those days.

Most of the sensible posters now are lurkers too because of the massive amount of troll topics and fact anything sensible gets ignored and lost in threads with trolls posts being quoted and commented on far more by agrieved fanboys/fangirls for page upon page.

I had toget a new account at the begining of the year because I got hacked and all my info changed but I've been here sinceJune 21st 07as muff07 and the boards had alot ore intresting topics and posters than they do now.

how can you even compare the SW we had 5+ years ago with the one with have now? the one we have now is kittens playground compared to what that place used to be, you made a thread, about anything, you refreshed and you had like 3 pages of pure insults, flaming, trolling, everything, then someone trolled back, then someone did the same...about 90% of the threads were locked and there was like 5 daily bans in that place, it was nothing compared to what it is now

Well, I wasnt here in 2004 but if I compared how I felt when I started posting here and how I feel now, I would say I enjoy it less because obviously my prespective has changed.

I now realise who are the actual trolls, notice the trends going on among several users and so on.

But other than that it hasnt changed much, since at the very least too few bad users have left (either on their own, or have been banned).

There are people here that I don't like having discussions with because they don't do it respectfully. Nor do they stay on topic. Nonetheless, I'm more apathetic to those individuals. They just aren't fun. I have no personal feelings toward them. I do like some people here. But that is because they are good users and one can have conversations with them. And no....I don't always agree with them either.LJS9502_basic

Eh...I don't tell them to react. I just find it funny is all. It's like any comedy show. It makes us laugh. I'd find myself pathetic if I let it bother me TBH. Not being bothered =/= troll. They are responsible for their own actions/feelings. Not me.
