ITT: We discuss if anyone here has been homeless.
Got kicked out of my house when I was a teenager once, dad was mightily p*ssed when I got caught stealing. Just stayed at my friends so it was cool.

Let's see... With a job, a car, and my own pad? Great!
When it's time to wash my clothes, cook my food, clean the (yeeech) toilet and grime rings around the tub? Not so great.

Underneath the bridge.............
The tarp has sprung a leak.......
And the animals I've trapped....
Have all become my pets.........
And I'm living off of grass........
And the drippings from the ceiling........
It's ok to eat fish....................
Cause they don't have any feelings......
I've been living with my parents since January. I lived alone for several years prior, but a reoccurence of a brain tumor made it impossible to work (removed in Dec '11). Now I'm a week away from moving to Dallas to live with my Aunt for a year while I attend mortuary college. I'm not happy about it, but I got to do something to get back on my feet.
I live in my parents home but I rarely see my parents.
I still get free shelter, water and dinner delieverd to my room every night when I come home from University.
When I was living completely by myself it was the loneliest I had ever been in my life. I was ~1500 miles away from home and really didn't socialize as much as I should have.
It sucked then and it sucks now. Having done it from the age of 15 ( currently 31 ) my best advice to ANYONE is to stay at home AS LONG AS POSSIBLE and mooch off your folks every chance you get.
Save your money, enjoy not paying rent or utilities and have as much fun being responsibility free as you can before your life disappears into the maw of the real world.
Enjoyabubble.
Grass is sometimes greener but hey - that paddock can look the lushest green you've ever seen when you're trapped under the:
But in a reasonably sized nutshell being on your own can feel liberating, but sometimes directionless. Like the world is moving forward but you're stationary. But that's probably just me - social norms etc blah whatevs - YOU'RE 38 GROW UP>
...actually what am I even doing on here

If my parents hadn't sucked so bad, knowing what I know now I would have stayed till they legally filed papers to have me removed. Would love to have put the $100k or so I spent living before I was 20 years old into a bank account while living off mom and dad.
Anyone who has the chance and doesn't is a fvcking moron imo.

And I mean it sincerely. I partially regret not waiting a year or more instead of moving out when I did.

Money's okay - it comes and goes. We can all rue about the right or wrong choices we make. Seems you had to move out pretty early though which I imagine is tough going. I was refering to those of my kinda vintage who still suckle the mothers teet - the grass does always seem little greener.

In hindsight you think you would have saved cash - in reality you probably would have spanked it and just been a year older.

On what? My mom left me alone. I didn't leave due to feeling suffocated or wanting the "real" college experience, I left for entirely different reasons. Any money I had would have been spent the same way I always spend money, with some going to savings, some to bills, and some stuff I like or need; until I moved out, when much more, too much, had to be spent on bills. Not everyone has the same budget policy.[QUOTE="poptart"][QUOTE="homegirl2180"]

I enjoy living on my own. I can do as I wish and watch what I want or eat whatever I wish. I can even walk around nude if I so choose (even more freer than Suzy walking around in panties and I hope she realizes that she gave guys here plenty of mental images to fantasize over).
I like that this thread hasn't become what he wanted it to be. On your point, no, I've never been homeless. On the logical point, yes, I live on my own. It's fine, I don't mind doing laundry or cooking or taking care of myself...just part of growing up. Though little trips back to my parents every now and then is always nice. Headed down with my girlfriend this weekend.HybridPhoenix
What did I want it to be?

You stated that people were supposed to say whether or not they have been homeless, but most people have answered whether or not they've moved out.[QUOTE="ClassicRockFTW"][QUOTE="HybridPhoenix"]I like that this thread hasn't become what he wanted it to be.
