I've been hearing good things but I'm tight on money right now.

it has Michael Cera in it and he's probably playing another shy kid.. he went to get alcohol for a girl that he liked and made a good movie like Superbad just miss being perfect. he went back in time with Jack Black in Year One but was still a shy kid. he played a shy kid with an imaginary bad other half in Youth In Revolt. now he's being a shy kid that is apparently going against the world but he's just trying to defeat a few ex's. anyway if you don't get my point by now, he's gonna be the same actor in every movie. so it's probably not worth wasting your money on if you've already seen enough movies about a 20 something year old acting like a 14 year old trying to impress girls that would never get with him in real life.
Its strange the only movie specific topics i've seen are about Scott Pilgrim. Its been out for a while arent people over it? It was a mediocre indie-wanna-be movie. Just watch it and get it outta your system.
Honest to God might be my all-time fav movie.
Definitely one of the most fun movie experiences in years.
I highly recommend it to anyone who grew up in the 90's, is a fan of old-school video games, and/or is a fan of anime.
I'd give it an 8/10. It's a great movie that's just a ton of fun to watch, especially if you're a gamer. It was definitely a movie made for the 15ish-30ish techie generation, though, and some of the jokes or references might fall flat to those who don't get it.
and let's not forget Juno. a shy kid that accidentally got a girl pregnant and he continues to be shy. as if that would really happen to him in real life. he'd be too shy to get a girl pregnant.

Don't bash a movie you haven't seen. Michael's role is a bit similar to his others, but Scott is more of an awkward, lazy, innocent moron rather than a shy Pauly Bleeker type.

that's how sad he is, you can even bash him if you haven't seen his movies. and thanks for reminding me :P I forgot to add awkward and moron to his description.
Michael Cera - "Hi..........." *long awkward silence* "I'm (insert name here)" "do you wanna kiss me?"
girl - "um.. no, freak"
Cera - *runs away but later on ends up with the girl*
I don't understand how he became famous in the first place. he's either related to someone famous or the film world just decided they need to use a talentless geeky kid. if it wasn't for hollywood, he'd still be looking for his first kiss and puberty.. wait he still hasn't hit that yet. he's like a slightly older, shyer version of Justin Bieber that plays in movies instead of singing.
It was damn good, and I'm disappointed at how it did in the box office, shame on you people.:x

How often were the commercials on? I don't remember seeing them, saw the trailers though on the internet. Because some movies are like that: Commercials shown few times and not a lot went to go see it without much publicity. For it's budget it's such a flop sales wise.It was gimmickly. The characters were uninteresting and so stereotypical as to appeal to a lonely geeky audience. =/It was damn good, and I'm disappointed at how it did in the box office, shame on you people.:x

I disagree, especially with "hilarious."

Not to mention the best special effects and editing around.
Really, on the technical aspect it is easily the most impressive movie I have ever seen.

the commercials were always on. I mean you could see the movie on the commercials. Michael Cera trying to impress a girl, something he could never do in real life, by fighting her ex's. and the "vs. the world" part makes no sense cause he's not fighting the world. and you can see hot girls in plenty of movies, I'd just rather not see Michael Cera near any of them.

Maybe it's premise was the reason it did poor in sales?:|He could have scored with the hotter udnerage asian girl. :|Fighting exs just to score isn't funny?:P

And no it isn't funny. The "premise" isn't even remotely comical, nor was the excution of mimicking super hero or video game esque fight seqeuences because it came off as cheesy trying to appeal to a certain type of audience like that. Same goes for the extra life thing and all the coins. "OMG LOOK LOL VIDEO GAMES IN MAINSTREAM NOW US GEEKS ARE COOL AND WILL GET "ALTERNATIVE" GIRLFRIENDS AND EVERYONE WILL LOVE US CAPSLOCK."
No, I disagree. The gimmick didn't hook me and the rest of the movie had no substance.
This next song goes out to the guy who keeps interjecting on a movie he's never seen, it's called "We hate you, please die."
Wasn't there a topic on this like two or three days ago? o_O
Anyway, I still haven't seen it yet. Hopefully I'll get it during winter break from netflix if I'm lucky. :x
