I don't have one, either. I shutdown my account about two months ago. If all of the people whom you'll be using Facebook to communicate with can be reached via other mediums (i.e. in person, over the phone, through Skype, etc.), then Facebook is utterly pointless. If you decide to make a Facebook account, prepare yourself for useless status updates, picture spamming, and all sorts of apps and advertisements which ruin and defeat the entire point of the site. Skip it.

Yes, but what if you are not close to some people but would still like to know what they are up to.
[QUOTE="TechTrek"]It's not pointless. It's a good way to get in touch with a lot of people at once. People invite you to things. It's convenient if somebody loses their phone and needs numbers. You can talk to cousins, aunts, uncles, and old friends and catch up. You wouldn't normally talk to those people if it wasn't for Facebook because they aren't close enough to you to talk to on the phone if you haven't seen them in a long time. Facebook allows you to still have a relationship. It's also a way that you can still maintain contact with people you used to go to high school with, or find old friends from a previous city that you lived in who you lost contact with. Also, the chat feature makes it easy to talk to a bunch of people. I sometimes have group conversations with co-workers. Where else could we meet to talk outside of work at a random time of the night? Facebook is great for all of those reasons. This is why I use it.I don't have one, either. You are missing out man. Where else do you go when you want to be up to date, second by second with people's trifle matters such as what they just ate or the last dump they took?! Also what better way to stalk girls?!
Oh boy and don't forget the unfunny, rehashed meme wall posts/statuses. Those are totally the s***. ;D
*re-reads*
Sounds all too familiar.
I have one but I never use it I only made it so I would stop getting invites from all the people who knew me.
I don't have a Facebook and I'm proud of it. The founder of Facebook called his first few thousand users (a word that is censored here). http://www.theregister.co.uk/2010/05/14/facebook_trust_dumb/I refuse to support such a terrible excuse for a human being by using his site.Radiatedrich91He better have grown up by now.
Facebook is meant to ruin people...Thats how I see now...I think it's good you don't have one TC...To bad I can't say the same about me:cry:...
I don't have one either.
Although, my wife has one so she typically updates people with pictures and all that jazz.
I had one, but deleted it. It was more than I could stand reading every single little detail of peoples lives.
I have one just because all of my friends stopped using Msn Messenger and started using the Facebook IM instead.
If you're not on the facebooks, you're missing out on the best way to locate the womens.SolidSnake35...............or big burly dudes posing as women :)

I was once a Facebook hater, a few years ago. Now, I love it and can't imagine living without it. It just makes everything so simple and convenient. As many have said, its great for keeping in touch with family, friends, and people who are sort of "friends". People you wouldn't normally chat or call, but are still interested in. Perhaps old high school friends who you've lost touch with. Or maybe someone you met once or twice but were never able to keep contact information.
I dont even care about games, apps, or any of that crap. What fascinates me the most is how much I've actually learned about other people's lives. As much as I hate to admit it, I think I know most of my friends better because of stuff they post on their walls, or the thinks they "Like". Same applies for people I barely knew in real life (maybe met once or twice in person) but had on FB. Learning about other people's interests, their new job, the birth of a family member, etc. It's great for learning things you normally wouldn't know about the people in your life.

I have a Facebook.
For some reason, I think spending time talking to people you don'tknow on Gamespot may be just as bad as spending time talking to people you doknow on Facebook.
No, no, that can't be right. All the geniuses in this thread can't possibly be wrong. :P
