Yep i got the swine flue and i must say so far it hasn't been that that bad. The highest temperature so far i've gotten has been 102 and i only threw up one time. But i get very nauses, and my bones are really weak and i have to walk hunched over because the bones in my back really hurt. But towards night time my temperature sub-sides down to 98 which is normal about everynight. I am 16 years old and i just had some questions for anyone following up on the swine flue or anyone who has had it, is there a risk of me dying? I read that the high risk are people who'm are pregnant, older the 65, or with heart diseases in which i dont have any of that.
But i still want to know if the chances are there that i can die from this. I have had a period today where it was pretty bad my illness but right now im feeling ok again. And how can this kill me? Any statistics?
you have a better shot of dying from the regular fluOn the note of infectious diseases, I was watching the History Channel yesterday and there was a show about doomsday scenarios.
Anyway, one of the doomsday scenarios was infectious disease, and they were talking about weaponized smallpox that the soviet union produced during the cold war. I just find this sort of interesting, and was planning on looking up more about that online. But then I started thinking about terrorism, and how this is pretty much the only terrorism scenario in which one person could pretty much singlehandedly destroy the human race as we know it.
So I then decided against typing into Google phrases such as "weaponized smallpox" and "human engineered smallpox virus", not wanting to end up on some kind of FBI terrorism hot list.
But in any case, is that the kind of thing that it's safe to research on the internet? Or were my instincts correct, and I shouldn't research that kind of thing unless I want to get visited by the FBI?

You can search anything you want, JUST DON'T USE GOOGLE to do it! There are a few trustworthy search engines that take googles info and strip out your IP and ID so you can't be identified.
Try either of these:
www.startpage.com probably the best non-tracking search engine.
www.scroogle.org Takes Googles results and strips everything that identifies you (ID & IP, etc.) out of the results.
You can have fun and not have to worry about the POS big-brother tactics of the idiots running the show!
Your fine, its basicaly just a bad flu. People die from regular flu too, if they are sick, old or stuff that makes their immune system not able to coap with the disease. So if your a healthy teen you shouldnt have to worry.
Overall the swine flu is just blown out of preportions if you ask me. Its bad, its a pandanemic. But its not the world ender, neither will it decimate the human population...

Definitely agree with this
DONT BELIEVE THE HYPE! They likely are just trying to convince you to get some piggy-flu vaccine laced with all sorts of heavy metals and crap that's bad for you.
I would definitely avoid a this flu shot if you are very young, Autism here we come!
[QUOTE="chessmaster1989"]Get off the forums, you'll infect us all! :cry:xaosI hate telecommunicable diseases
Just imagine a disease being able to infect humans -> infect computers -> infect humans. We're all doomed.
The H1N1 flu strain goes into regression and rebuilds repeatedly while any carrier is infected. If you have felt bad and are currently feeling better then chances are you will feel bad again and it will be worse than before.
This is one reason it spreads so efficiently. People get it, start feeling better, go back to work and then infect everyone there.

DO YOU EVEN HAVE A SENSE NOT TO INTERJECT WITH SUCH A COMMENT!? I have a mental condition that falls within the entire category of the s*** you're trying to bring up AND I DO NOT FIND THIS TO EVEN BE WORTH A LAUGH! Even if I did, it's not even a good joke; in fact, it's in verry piss-poor taste even to be saying such a f***ing stupid thing like that. And those vaccines have nothing to do with autism to the extent I know of; those so-called scientists have no veriifiable proof and are nothing but a bunch of little chickens acting like the great blue sky is about to fall on top of us. Same goes with all of the dumb f***s trying to say people are about to get infected and/or die just for talking here about swine flu. It's just a bunch of FUD. And if you're not down with that, I've got two words for ya: SUCK IT![QUOTE="jer_1"][QUOTE="chaplainDMK"]

Pfft.. You'll live. Last time I checked something like influenza normally kills 40,000 people in the US. Thats a crapton more then Swine Flu has killed so far.

oo sucks
I didn't find it too awful but it was rather...taxing I guess. Other than the chills and sweats it just seemed like an intense flu -- until I tried to get up and walk around that is at which point it felt like my body was suddenly caving in with massive nausea and intense sapping of energy. :( My best advice is just to stay still, watch some TV, and have somebody hand you off some foodstuffs so you can keep your body's strength up while not having to move around and just getting as much sleep and rest as possible.
My body is rather...unkind to strangers and has quite a hefty metabolism in its arsenal, but still I'm twice your age and I could shake it fairly easily after a handful of days so you should be fine unless you have some previous ongoing health issues. If so then you should consult a physician and all that usual advice.
