I really did not know how it was going to end. I was so ambivalent when Kira was finally captured. On the one hand, it was great that the mass murderer was finally stopped, but on the other he was the main character. He had planned things out so meticulously, and part of you had either been rooting for him or admiring his brilliance throughout the whole show.

Really? I was completely glad Light died. He became such a selfish, corrupt bastard. He didn't even care that much that his own FATHER died. he only pretended to care.
But I liked BOTH seasons of Death Note. I liked L better, too, but the second part after his death was still as intense and intriguing as the first, IMO. And I thought the anime ending was good. I kinda wish they showed what happened after Light's death, such as Light's family's reaction to hearing about him dying and being Kira, and news takes on the whole situation, etc. but it was still intense and interesting, and was quite bittersweet. Light the psychopathic murderer was finally stopped, but so many lost their lives already to him, and the way Light went out was pretty pitiful. And the way Misa was just blankly staring in the credits.
Oh, and this is the most epic, badass scene in anime history.
