Last episode itself was a plothole. Near basically admitted that he got lucky when someone who views Light as GOD broke a STRICT order, broke said order for the sake of the plot ending the way it did. It's completely illogical for the Mikami to break the order like he did.

That's not a plothole. Mikami thought he was doing the right thing by doing what Kira would do--the very reason why Kira hired him in the first place.

Mikami deducted everything Kira would have done, but not the one vital thing he should have deducted. Right in time for the anime to end. Breaking "strict orders" isn't something Mikami would have done if the anime was any longer ~ And when any plot has an illogical or questionable action from a character, it can be considered a plothole.

Mikami's "strict orders" were not to make any unnecessary movements, and there was nothing about Mikami's situation that suggested it was unnecessary for him to do what he did. All Mikami did was make a mistake that lead to the finale. At best it could be considered a deus ex machina, not a plothole.

I actually agree with Darth. I enjoyed the second half as much as the first. But the manga's ending was better IMO.

I really did not know how it was going to end.
I was so ambivalent when Kira was finally captured. On the one hand, it was great that the mass murderer was finally stopped, but on the other he was the main character. He had planned things out so meticulously, and part of you had either been rooting for him or admiring his brilliance throughout the whole show.
If you liked the anime, you should watch the movies. In my opinion, the movie had a better ending than the anime. That being said L>>>>>>>Near. There's also a spin off movie about L if that interests you. Sadly, I don't think it was very good.

Really? I was completely glad Light died. He became such a selfish, corrupt bastard. He didn't even care that much that his own FATHER died. he only pretended to care.

But I liked BOTH seasons of Death Note. I liked L better, too, but the second part after his death was still as intense and intriguing as the first, IMO. And I thought the anime ending was good. I kinda wish they showed what happened after Light's death, such as Light's family's reaction to hearing about him dying and being Kira, and news takes on the whole situation, etc. but it was still intense and interesting, and was quite bittersweet. Light the psychopathic murderer was finally stopped, but so many lost their lives already to him, and the way Light went out was pretty pitiful. And the way Misa was just blankly staring in the credits.

Oh, and this is the most epic, badass scene in anime history.

Bleh....the show was fantastic up until
L's death. after that it was dumb and the ending was cliche. Light beat L imo if it ended like that it would be the best anime ever xD.
I watched the show, and honestly, I don't see the fantastic thing about it. Sure, L is funny and Light is a good villain/anti hero, but it seems so plain at times... The only good thing about it is Ryuk and his apples :P
DEATH NOTE is the MOST EPIC ANIME I've ever seen. I love it, I re-watch it like 7 times alreadyRTUUMM

The most epic? You obviously haven't seen Fullmetal Alchemist.

No, no I havent (seen some eps tho), but cant I has my own opinion bro?

What's this? A person (who likes anime) that haven't watched Full Metal Alchemist (or FMA: Brotherhood)?! FMA:Brotherhood is epicness and number 1.

Not to go too much off topic but in my opinion anyone who likes anime MUST watch these 5:
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Gintama
Eden of the East
Hunter x Hunter
Toradora

Oh please, Gintama is a real drag to get through. IMO, at least.

I know that it's supposed to have serious parts. I got to one of them and it just didn't bring me in. All of the random episodes that are supposed to be funny rarely catch my attention.

If you don't find Gintama hilarious you have no soul in my opinion. Really?! Come on, it's hilarious.

The serious parts are so few that if you don't find Gintama funny you shouldn't keep watching. I mean, some of the more serious Gintama episodes are great but what makes Gintama brilliant is the excellent comedy. It is anime comedy at its best and its kind of "random" comedy feels a bit similar to Family Guy and Internet humor and is my absolute favorite of comedy.

I am very sad that it's finished (for now I think at least). They've faked it so many times, I swear they've made me worry so much with all their episodes complaing about stuff such as low ratings etc. When the time was in I was really unsure if they were serious THIS time. Too bad they were.

No soul?

It's just not my kind of humor most of the time.

Besides I watch anime to get a story, when there is little or not story present I move on to something else, and that is what has happened with Gintama. I could appreciate the episodic style of it, but it just isn't funny enough.
I preffered the animes ending for one reason.
At the end when Light is running away you see him have a flashback to the time when he didnt have the Death note. As if he had regrets about the whole thing
Epic ending is epic.............

It left a bad taste in my mouth. I do not think they did a good job of bridging the gap b/w seasons 1 and 2 In fact, I was not enamled at all with it after season 1...it just felt like a lot of fillings and not much substance for a lot of the episodes PS: You should probably use spoiler tags...it can sometimes lead to getting modded if you don't Just a freindly heads up
