Appeal it. If the cop shows up, you're screwed. If he doesn't, then good.

Suck it up, pay the fine, and stop flirting with 90 on the speedometer.

Unlikely you're gonna get out of paying for it.

Just sell some of your furniture, or borrow $120 from some friends or your parents.

1. you are going to have to pay 2. most states can give you an extension to pay 3. in Texas, you can do deferred judification = does not go on your record as long as you do not get another ticket for 90 days (so insurance stays the same)

Then you should know that in Canada the vehicke is insured, not the driver = no change (at least that is how it used to be)

Remind the judge that you have a clean record, and they might shave some of the fine off. Defer the ticket if you can. No matter what happens in court, take it like a man. I've never been a judge, so I can't say for sure, but I expect they get sick of whining losers that come in there, so don't act that way.

if things work in canada like they do here better off paying it, cause if you go to court and lose the court costs are on you plus a lawyer(if needed) is on you and so is the original ticket.

If you do go to court make sure you tell the judge the only reason the cop pulled you over was the faint aroma of fresh cooked donuts eminating from the back of your car. The judge might just reward you for your courage.

That's pretty cheap ticket. I know in the US if you go to court they will drop the cost of the ticket significantly if you show up to court. I was doing 76 in a 60mph zone and got a $174 ticket but got it dropped to $74 when I showed up to court.

I don't know how judges can take listening to people whine at them all day. If I were a traffic court judge, they'd fire me on the first day for yelling, "just shut up and pay the fine, you little a--hole! Bailiff, beat this guy up for being a moron!"

my first ticket i had 3 options. i could pled innocent, guilty or no contest.

i chose no contest bgecause the fine was smaller and it doesnt go on your record.

If it were up to me, there wouldn't be 'no contest' pleas. It's gutless. If you're guilty, take responsibility for your actions and admit it.

Give the dude a break. It's not like he's the only person who does it..

I say pay it off, but try to get an extension. Make some money back, and pay it.

ok so i have been reading about speeding tickets and stuff for the last half hour and i read that you can meet an officer before the court date and ask him to waive the ticket. for people who live in canada is this true. P.S i really dont mind paying the ticket, its really more about the insurance.

Have you ever drove before, or even been on North American highways? This isint "rare".

Besides..Isint it measured in KM in Canada? If that is, that would mean he was going around...55.

Good point. I was thinking, "89mph is pretty fast". 70 km/hr? how does anyone get anywhere at that speed?

Cheap is right... my last ticket was $650 plus a $300 surcharge. And that was only for 80mph in a 55mph zone (which was actually 120mph (clocked at 101) in a 55, but it was reduced in court).
