And I'm in pain right now. My mouth is all swollen and its bleeding nonstop. And now its hurting. I really hate going to the dentist. I was so scared when I went to get it removed. And after it was all done, i felt EXHAUSTED. And I passed out. And now I just woke up. And it hurts....a lot. They actually had to cut my tooth into pieces and a part of the gum underneath it cause it just wouldn't budge when he tried taking it out. But anyways...at least im done with this. I'll never have to go through this ever again. I feel bad for the people that still have their wisdom teeth. But don't worry cause as soon as you get it removed, you'll feel so free. You'll be happy that its over with. But before you feel anything, you'll feel "high". And really tired, and then you'll pass out. At least that's what happened to me. Anyways...have you guys ever gotten your wisdom teeth removed???

Yeah, I had mine out very late in life, as in last November. Make sure you follow your after care instructions EXACTLY; you do not want dry socket, by all accounts, it's one of the worst pains there is.

Yeah, I got my wisdom teeth removed 3 years ago. I was really surprised because there were no problems for me after getting them removed. It didn't hurt and didn't bleed excessively. It really was painless. All I remember from the procedure is having the anesthesia administered and then waking up while they were moving me to the waiting area and passing out again.

I haven't yet, I'm terrified of doing it because I CANNOT be awake while it's being done, or I will freak right out. I can't even do X-rays without gagging, my whole dentist's office thinks it's a big hilarious joke. I'm less worried about excruciating pain than I am about having drills and other sharp, hurty things in my mouth.

I have no clue why humans have not evolved to not have wisdom teeth with the amount of problems it causes. I got mine by the way and was surprised I didn't have a problem.

I had mine pulled about 2 years ago. I was out of school for a couple days. Make sure you keep gauze on it and take the pills they give you!

Is it really? I figure it does a good enough job numbing pain and such in it's own special way.

It will make you bleed much more freely if the alcohol is still in your system, and it's generally been shown to increase recovery time, also increases the risk of infection.

Yea I had all 4 taken our when I was around 15 or 16 I think. They weren't fully developed yet, so the cut out all the roots. That was a **** week, but it's really more uncomfortable than it is painful.

About 3 years ago. It sucked after I woke up from the surgery. I couldn't walk straight, and my mouth kept bleeding. I'm glad that's over.

Over time they tend to displace your other teeth and are prone to become impacted

Pain meds. Use them. Like, the kind that highschool kids and loser adults abuse, get those pain meds. And use as many as it takes to make the pain go away.

I had my wisom teeth out on Tuesday last week :P

I'm pretty much healed; I have no pain, but my gums are still raw, and I'm still avoiding chewing with my back teeths.

Just follow every one of the directions, and take the pain drugs they give you (They gave my two different kinds).
It seems that some people just have a worse time with them; my sister and friends cousin got all swollen and such, whereas me and my brother recovered pretty fast.

I was under anesthesia when my wisdom teeth were removed. I would assume that using anesthesia is part of the normal procedure for removing wisdom teeth so you don't have to worry about being awake during the procedure.

My advice: sleep with your head propped up over the rest of your body. Really helps with swelling.

No offensence but what a wimp. I had 6 teeth removed when they removed mine (I grew more teeth than the average person.) and I ate a cheeseburger 50 minutes later.

i got mine taken out last year. i remember waking up in a dark room with a tv, a ton of gauze in my mouth, and a tv was on in the corner. i just kinda laid there, i was still pretty ****ed up from the drugs they gave me to make me fall asleep. i remember when i was inhaling the anaesthetic, i was thinking to myself "hmmm this isn't working..." :P

but anyways, when i was in the dark room with the tv, they brought in another guy, and i'm not sure, but i think i tried to talk to him for some reason. but of course with all the gauze in my mouth, and being messed up from the drugs, what i said was probably just gibberish.

when my mom was driving me home, we stopped and got a smoothie, and in the car when i was eating/drinking it, i was spilling it all over myself because i could not feel my mouth. and my mom said the things i was saying was making no sense at all :P

Which teeth are wisdom teeth? I haven't gone to the dentist in years. I hate novocain. I swear I'd rather just have teeth pulled without pain meds then have novocain.

The TC said he's still bleeding (or at least was); whiskey probably isn't the best idea. :P

That sucks that your in pain. I had mine out three or four years ago and was relatively pain-free, plus the surgeon was decidedly not against using drugs (local and general anesthetic plus NOX for the procedure, and T3s for after). Take any painkillers you were prescribed or something over-the-counter and try to get some sleep.
