I got mine out a few years ago and had a lot of trouble with bleeding. I did not have much pain, but I was out of it for about 24 hours after the surgery. Everyone I know seems to have a very different reaction to the procedure, some, like me, have some trouble and remain out of it for while, while some people I know were back at school the next day perfectly fine.

[QUOTE="X360PS3AMD05"]Ibu and Vico, maybe some whiskey. I was already used to the grogginess from having a small tumor on the back of my tongue removed before...........PBSnipes

The TC said he's still bleeding (or at least was); whiskey probably isn't the best idea. :P

That sucks that your in pain. I had mine out three or four years ago and was relatively pain-free, plus the surgeon was decidedly not against using drugs (local and general anesthetic plus NOX for the procedure, and T3s for after). Take any painkillers you were prescribed or something over-the-counter and try to get some sleep.

mine bled a crap load for a few days after. but the bleeding stopped sometimes, enough so that i was able to... do something... without it hurting.

My advice, stock up on Jello and pudding.

You won't be able to eat much more than that for a week or so,

Had mine removed during my Junior year spring break.

Only took 1 pain pill. I don't like taking medicine.

I had no problem with getting my wisdom teeth removed. I went under anesthetic for it as I had to get all four out and two of them were wrapped around nerves. When I came to all I felt was numbness. I felt virtually no pain over the next week. Heck I ate a Tim Tam two hours after I had them removed.

I went to the dentist this past May and I was told that I need my wisdom teeth out (I knew that since now, the dental office has TVs so my panoramic X-ray popped up and I saw that the wisdom tooth on the bottom right corner is going diagonally towards the normal tooth. BTW, all of my teeth are under the gumline right now). The general dentist wants me to get all 4 wisdom teeth out. I'm only 17 so because the dental bone of the wisdom teeth aren't dense yet, the recovery process won't be as painful. In 4 days, I have my consultation with the oral surgeon to get his opinion on how many of the teeth have to go (I know that one tooth I described to you earlier has to go). My dad wants me to get my wisdom teeth out during winter break when I come home from college. Since I only need 2-3 days of rest time, I thought I should get my wisdom teeth out during fall break.

After seeing so many extractions, it's not as scary as I once thought it was. I imagine it gets sore afterwards though. Just take something for the pain, use gauze to lessen the bleeding, and avoid chewing. You can start doing salt water rinses by the next day.

A good amount of people are terrified of the dentist, and hate having instruments prodded around in their mouths. Everyone always asked me before the actual operation "Does it hurt?", and I'd always tell them that they'd only feel pressure, not pain. Then afterwards they'd say it wasn't so bad :P

My wisdom teeth are slowly coming in, and they'll eventually have to be removed unless I want to wear braces again :(

i got mine taken out last year. i remember waking up in a dark room with a tv, a ton of gauze in my mouth, and a tv was on in the corner. i just kinda laid there, i was still pretty ****ed up from the drugs they gave me to make me fall asleep. i remember when i was inhaling the anaesthetic, i was thinking to myself "hmmm this isn't working..." :P

but anyways, when i was in the dark room with the tv, they brought in another guy, and i'm not sure, but i think i tried to talk to him for some reason. but of course with all the gauze in my mouth, and being messed up from the drugs, what i said was probably just gibberish.

when my mom was driving me home, we stopped and got a smoothie, and in the car when i was eating/drinking it, i was spilling it all over myself because i could not feel my mouth. and my mom said the things i was saying was making no sense at all :P

I stopped at a smoothie place while heading home with my dad but I actually went inside the store and everyone working there thought I was high off my ass. haha

Yeah, I had mine out very late in life, as in last November. Make sure you follow your after care instructions EXACTLY; you do not want dry socket, by all accounts, it's one of the worst pains there is.xaos
IT IS THE WORST PAIN...EVER though I have not passed a stone, so that may be worse. But it is certainly the worst pain I have ever felt

Ugh I remember my experiences when I had them removed. Those pain pills were a gift from the heavens for me.

I had mine taken out 5 years ago. It hurt so bad because they cut the teeth out of my gums, and all they gave me was ibuprofen for pain. :(

You aren't following the proper procedure after removing your wisdom teeth if you are still bleeding and your mouth is swollen.
